Democrats are done for the next two years - Republicans win big time in both the houses

As the counting had begun, I wrote the following posts on the Facebook

CONGRATULATIONS

  • Gregg Abbot - though I did not vote for you, you are the governor. Your statements about women were not polished at all, and I am surprised Texas women voted for you. Hell, you are the governor, just behave.

  • Wendy Davis, it was a good effort, a Democrat would have been better for the sake of women's rights. There is the next time; it is a significant achievement for your party. Don't wait for three more years, begin your campaign now.
  • John Cronyn, I did not vote for you, but hope you serve our great state of Texas
  • Kenny Marchant,  I voted for you, congratulations keep us represented well
  • Pete Sessions, my support has been there for you will continue, congratulations
  • Louis Gohmert – I am surprised at your win, you are an embarrassment to Texas
  • Mark Veasey – Congratulations, you have the sincerity to serve your constituents
  • Eddie Bernice Johnson – Congratulations, you are the longest serving congressperson
  • Keith Ellison, congratulations, it’s a great victory against the bigot Daggett.
  • Michelle Bachman – good riddance, glad not to see your name.
  • Mitch McConnel -A reluctant congratulations, just be graceful to the people for giving you a chance. Don't F_up things that are in place, just empty your hate for Obama, show some respect for the current president, if not how can you expect Americans to respect you.

Man it feels, good to be independent - to be able to congratulate both Republican and Democratic candidates and chew them out too.

Rush Limbaugh has said (2012), that  a Good republican cannot even say good things about Obama and he did not like John Huntsman for praising Obama. He defined a good republican to be an asshole. That is the kind of creepiness creeping into the party.

Well, I am proud to be an American - it is a great tradition to watch the winners and the losers graceful acknowledge each other

BAD NEWS FOR AMERICA

I am saddened with the outcomes, we the people will lose out in the next two years.  We are making a mistake in giving both the houses to the same party. The assholes will become arrogant and pass crazy bills, remembers all the wars and bad things have happened when both the houses were with the same party – either Republican or Democrat.

Senate 47 v 42- Republicans just need 4 out of the 11 to get the majority.
House 176 v 102 – Republicans need 42 seats and they will get it.
Prayer is all we can do – God bless America

I was hoping the Senate to remain with Democrats and house with Republicans – they need to work, they need to debate and fight on every bill instead of dunking it. Americans will lose out with this scenario. We have to be responsible to keep checks and balances in place.  Never again should we give them a pass.

DEMOCRATS ARE DONE FOR 2 YEARS

At this moment, Republicans got 51 senate seats and 218 house seats!

Tomorrow, Mitch McConnell will be out on the path of destruction. I am afraid; we will face some nasty decisions in the next two years - We made the mistake of giving both the houses to the same party - Never again! God save America.

They are anxious to bomb Iran and weaken America, all the good we have achieved together as Americans will be torn up. They will pile up the budget deficits and finish America. Those SOB' have nothing to lose, it is the average American, that is you and I who would lose. We have to be guardful of them now. God Bless America!

OBAMA PRESIDENCY NOT APPRECIATED

Obama pulled the country out of disaster, unemployment is low, he passed equal pay for women act, but Republicans have rejected it. | The GDP has leaped forwards to 4.6% | Gas prices are below $3, how many people will thank him during the thanksgiving and Christmas holidays | Home foreclosures have gone down | 10 million new jobs have been created | Budget deficit is in checks | He will leave a good solid infrastructure of roads and bridges to last for another 30 years | Imagine the Romney presidency, he would have bombed Iran, but screwed American to the end, he would have finished the wreck Bush left, thanks to Obama for saving Americans from another disaster.

Obama has an impressive record but his folks did not make a big deal out of these and let themselves run down by the Republicans.

I voted today, early voting on 10.31.14

It was a smooth process!  I asked Google, “Where do I vote today” – it responded with the address of Marsh Lane Baptist Church on Royal at Marsh Ln, that is where I went.

Had a nice conversation with the folks in the line and inside the voting room, I sought permission from the precinct Judge to take pictures and here are a few.  It was all efficient… within a few minutes it was all done.

Outside the building,   I talked to people if they went straight party line or chose the individuals – the answer was pleasant – all the 14 people responded that they chose to vote individually.  That’s how it should be, voting for the individual and that takes time to go through the entire list, if you chose party, it is just one single click.  I hope it is a trend!  How did you vote?

Among the biggies, I voted Wendy, Alameel – democrats and Marchant – a Republican and then for the state representative and senator I went with Democrats but among judges, went with the Republicans I knew, others went democrat. I was surprised with a page full of names of only Democrat judges on the ballot without contest; the same was with Republican judges on some pages.  That easy?

I have always shared who I voted. We don’t need to play games to be politically correct, you are who you are, and I am who I am and we need to learn to accept each other. If someone does not like you for the way you voted, and don’t want to be friends, their friendship was shallow anyway, and I say good riddance.

Press Conference; Preserving Obama Care

Dallas, Texas - Thursday, October 10, 2013.
URL - http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2013/10/press-conference-preserving-obama-care.html

I am a Republican, a moderate Republican,  and  am here to tell you,  that  neither I, nor the Republicans or the Americans gave permission to Ted Cruz to turn the nation upside down, we are not a third world country to break the rules and do what we please.  You and I are safe today, and our government remains a model of stability to the world because we are a nation of laws. We have systems to follow, a due process to hang on to, and rules to obey.

This act cannot be approved by conservative Republicans either, who prefer stability over chaos, and are disciplined enough to follow a system. That is how democracies work.

Other pictures taken today - http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeghouse/10192491583/in/set-72157636398658675/

Ted Cruz sounds like a class room bully who frightens the kids and gets away with it. He is indeed an excess baggage of the Republican Party that can be done with.  Can the Senate or the President fire him? Hell no, we have a due process to do everything, and it is embarrassing that the Republicans got bullied by him, and even the conservatives threw the system of due process out the door. It is not good for the country, it bring chaos.

Shame on me and fellow Texas Republicans for voting him in, but 2018 is not too far, we will do the right thing, but do it respectfully obeying the law of the land.

The prime responsibility of Government is to protect her Citizens from external and internal enemies - the external being other nations attacking us, and we need not worry, we’ve got the best defense forces in the world.  However, the #1 internal enemy remains the disease that cripples productive Americans from being contributors to the greatness of America.

My fellow Republican need to understand that a healthy America makes us a productive Americans, the health care is an investment in human capital, and not a charity or subsidy. A corporation would rather have productive employees than the ones who get sick frequently and lower its productivity.  It behooves for us to invest in the health care, even it were totally paid for by our taxes. Healthy Americans makes a healthy America.

Affordable care act is not a political issue. It is neither Republican nor Democratic, it is an American issue, and it has two dimensions; Legal and Human.

It is illegal to drive on the wrong side of the road, it is illegal to go 40 MPH in a school Zone during the school hours and it is illegal to rob the bank at gun point.  It is illegal to bust into the Capitol Hill and stop their proceedings; it is illegal to stop the congressman from doing his duty if we don’t like him or her.  It is illegal to mess with the established systems.

The Affordable Care act was passed by the Congress, the Senate and Signed by the President and ratified by the Supreme Court. It is a shame that few of the Republicans to claim that no Republican voted for it, that is gross disrespect to our system. We honor all the legislations passed by the elected representatives. This is a dishonorable act on the part of the few and illegal. Shouldn’t there be consequences for breaking the law? Shouldn’t I be arrested if I block Ted Cruz from entering his office and doing his job just because I don’t like him?

The Human side of the equation is inhuman, that these nuts continue to be rewarded with a paycheck, and deny the same to 2 million federal workers. I was listening to NPR, some congresswoman said, she has got to have her paycheck because her son goes to college, what about the 2 Million Americans, and don’t they have kids? Why should you be bloody special?

Then my own story – I could not afford the expensive health insurance, and was hit by a massive heart attack on July 9 this year and will be indebted for life to pay those bills. Then they say I needed a Quad-pass surgery and I was tense, and did not want to get into debt, no one would sell me the insurance.  Thank God for the affordable health care, my wife found me the company to insure me with the pre-existing conditions. I am paying $380/month compared to $800 quotes I had received before.  There are millions of Americans out there who can’t even afford that.

What Republicans need is an education in business besides basic biology and mathematics. We need to understand that the economy expands with volume and brings prosperity to everyone. If we make insurance affordable, the enrollment volume will pay for it, there is more money in the piggy bank to even out with the consumption. Then of course, a healthy America is good for the economy, good for business and good for the American spirit.

I urge my fellow Republicans and Americans to call on the Congress and demand to reopen the government. I have sent faxes and published the same. Please remember evil exists not because of men like Ted Cruz, but because of men and women like you and I, who do nothing. What are we afraid of doing the right thing? Please pick up the phone and make the call to your representative. You can find his or her number at

Who should you Vote this Saturday?

As a Republican, I care about my nation and my region, and I urge you to scrutinize the Republican candidates in particular, we have more extremists among us than the Democrats. We want to move forward and not fight with each other, we don't need these assess to govern us.

Dump those who show a discriminatory attitude, talk or act towards women, people of other race, ethnicity or religion. Even if they are African Americans, Hispanic or Asians, some of them stink.

If you know about them, tell your friends about them. They are no good bums and not good for our cities in the long run. Let the causers of tension in our communities go! Hatred towards one is hatred towards all.

YES to those who talk about including every one and moving forward together, whether they are Republicans or Democrats; white, black or brown; man or a woman.
Saturday, May 11, 2013 - is the day to vote in all municipal elections across the nations.

Sequestration 2013, a Political Mess

It’s a ransom - if you do that, we will do this. Neither Obama administration nor the Republicans budged from their positions to realign the cuts in expenditures and enhancement of revenues to balance the budget.

We can survive this $85 billion cut, but is this how we deal with the national issues?

Republicans are assuming that we are not going to make it in 2014, so what the heck, let’s do the thing that needs to be done any way and make Obama look bad. Our intention smells foul.

We have to balance the budget; we cannot spend more than we collect. Indeed, we had a balanced budget when President Clinton left. However President Bush, the macho man loaded with revenge seeking testosterone's had to lie to us to go to war and that is where our destruction began. His actions killed over 5000 of our soldiers and nearly a million Afghans and Iraqis – for what?  He piled up a reckless debt of $10 Trillion dollars. That was irresponsible, had he done what Obama did, to go get that one guy Bin-Laden; we would not be in this mess today. Cheney and Bush owe an apology to the nation, their karma is messed up, but they have messed us up.

The blame must be placed squarely on the party leadership. The Republican Party programs its members to be sheepish; to shut up and listen to the boss. How many Republican were belligerent towards Bush?  We are freaking conformists in a free nation. We have become cowards and don’t have the balls to speak out against our own. It is time to change. I see hope in Chris Christie, John Huntsman, Colin Powell and many more that are speaking up, and add to that list, this little man from Dallas, Texas who will relentlessly pursue the case for sanity in our party.

Had we questioned President Bush and demanded the truth from him, we would have saved the nation, but that is behind,  right now,  we have to cut spending. Cannot continue with deficit financing of our state.

President Obama needs to be aggressive in cutting spending; there is a lot of wasteful spending that needs to be cut. Let it begin with huge pay cuts for the elected representatives, not the ones who make less than $100,000 but any pay check above that. They can demonstrate to the nation that they mean business.

The Republicans on the other hand need to have some common sense, we cannot go cold turkey on budget cuts, and it has to be a gradual and balanced approach over a period of 6 years without hurting the economy. But cuts, we must make.

The good thing about Moderate Republicans is they care for their country more than their party and they will save the party and not the right wingers among us.  We need to have a simple (not the arrogant) majority in the house and Democrats to have the simple majority in the Senate. These guys need to fight and spend time on each bill – there shall be no slam dunk of any bill. Most of the evil decisions were made when all the three branches of government were of the same party.  As a moderate Republican I detest a monopoly of the party over our governance.
If we don’t change our stinking attitudes we will be slaughtered in 2014, all these Taliban’s, 22 of the Republican Senators and some 138 Republican Congress persons must go for voting against women’s equal rights act in the senate. What a shame! I expect more of us Republicans to speak out against these primates.

ROMNEY OBAMA SONG

Although my enthusiasm for the election has remained high, I am also tense, frightened at times about the prospects of getting the worse or worst guy elected as President. This is the first time I am deeply concerned and apprehensive about our nation’s next four years.

What I did not do; 4 TV spots and a Romney Obama Song
URL:
http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2012/11/romney-obama-song.html

Being a pluralist, I have come to value every individual, faith, race, ethnicity and culture. My friends include Atheists to Zoroastrians and every one in between on the faith side, and on the political spectrum I have Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians. I am a Republican, a moderate one like Schwarzenegger, Collin Powel, John Huntsman and a host of other Republicans who put America first. I voted the Democrat Obama for President, Republican Cruz for Senate, Republican Marchant for Congress, and a host of Republican and Democrat Judges and commissioners, but mainly Republican. Here is the list of whom I voted - http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2012/11/today-i-voted-for-barack-obama.html

Obama has made a few mistakes, one of them is putting health reform bill ahead of job creation, otherwise, he has done most of the things right. Romney was my first choice, but I lost him when he conveniently switched from a moderate Republican to the right wing position and then again a liberal pandering simply to get elected. I am not sure what we will get from him. I have opted for the stabilizing Obama, against the chaotic repeal marathon on day one if Romney gets elected.

Deep down, I seriously doubt if the conservative Republicans trust him, but their desperation to have a Republican is making them make serious compromises they will come to regret. Romney has betrayed the moderates; conservatives and even liberals, and we can expect him to do the same to the American Public if he were elected. I promise you this; I will aggressively seek to reshape my GOP, I am sick of the extremist takeover of the party, just as I was sick of extremist takeover of Islam, a few years ago.  However, I will do my share of the work after November 7th and seek support from the fellow Republicans.

I had plans to make the following commercial spots, but did not make it:

1.    A group of corporate leaders are in a huddle talking about the 47% and laughing about the moochers…then a veteran, an unemployed, a pregnant woman and a senior walk in - they stopped laughing, one of the actors playing Romney looks at them and starts defending.. no no , we were not talking about you… then the moochers (per Romney) walk out… Romney tells one of his employees to go shut the damned door… after locking the door they start laughing again on fellow Americans misfortune.

2.    A huge storm passes, the dust settles and calmness prevails… Obama sprints through it; Americans sigh deeply for the stability…and thank him. As Obama exits the field Romney walks in, kicking (repealing) the dirt, the dust is all over again, and no one could see a thing with clarity.

3.    Romney is president, a gigantic Tsunami hits the eastern sea board…. destroying everything east of Mississippi… Romney contracts out to private companies (no bids, as advised by the Bush advisors in his admin) like Halliburton… to do the clean up. They start the work, but deem unprofitable to go get the children, women and seniors trapped under buildings. The public complains and Romney slams - its tax payer’s money and I cannot blow it on you guys, I don’t like dependents, go figure out yourselves and save yourselves…if you are not fit to live, then don’t.

4.    Netanyahu calls President Romney - look, I need you to pull the naval resources in the gulf of Oman, and we will use your ships as base to bomb Iran... Romney, says, I need you to use a specific product, I am invested in it… go get them tiger. American economy collapses, people lose jobs, and deficit hits ceilings... Romney justifies, we have to take care of our Allies… while the Jewish Americans and Israelis Citizens appear on the horizon and say this in chorus, “President Romney, did you ask us what we wanted?”

Then this song to be fine tuned, it is a draft.
