Mike Ghouse diary weekending May 22, 2011

I was with Yasmeen this last weekend in Louisville and together we went to see her brother and sister's families in Atlanta. It is always good to be with familiy! Yasmeen drove over 13 hours and I drove over 30 hours in the last five days a total 2600 miles.

GHOUSE ON FOX NEWS, MY 25TH APPEARANCE WITH HANNITY
I was on Hannity Radio and Fox TV show last week about Obama's speech on Middle East. It is one of my best shows on TV and Radio as well. I believe Obama’s speech is historic, to Bridgette and Sean also historic in negative sense.  I was on Radio with Israeli Ambassador
http://www.hannity.com/show/2011/05/19

GHOUSE AND ISRAELI AMBASSDOR GOLD SQUAR OFF

From Hannity Site, “Sean was joined by writer and speaker Mike Ghouse to discuss the comments made by Obama about Israel. Obama told our closest ally, Israel, that they have to give up and go back to their 1967 borders - essentially forcing them to negotiate with a terrorist organization that wants their destruction. Ghouse explained to Sean that he believes this terrorist threat is going to change and become friends and cooperate with Israel. "What if you're wrong?" Sean asked Ghouse directly. "If you're wrong, Israel is destroyed." Ghouse was adamant that he was right. "I am not wrong. I have not been wrong on many issues. Dore Gold, an Israeli statesman who has served in various diplomatic positions under several Israeli governments, called in as well and debated with Ghouse. You can listen to the entire debate by clicking here. http://www.hannity.com/videos/?uri=channels%2F400391%2F1341352+  “

OBAMA WILL DELIVER SECURITY TO ISRAEL AND JUSTICE TO PALETINIANS

Next week, I will be taking off to a friend's ranch to finish writing my books on Muslims in America and my Pluralism Journey

PLURALISTIC PRAYERS AT CARROLLTON CITY HALL
Delivered another Pluralistic prayer invocation at the city of Carrollton and welcomed the new Mayor Marchant while appreciating the former Mayor Branson. I hope to deliver the same prayer on Capitol Hill in DC. http://carrolltondiary.blogspot.com/2011/05/pluralism-prayers-at-carrollton-city_24.html

COHESIVE AMERICA TALK TOUR
I am also planning on a tour of American cities to talk about building a cohesive America; the address will be to the Republicans and Democrats in each city. We all can co-exist without selling hate and divisive politics if we cut the fear mongering out of our speeches. My party, the Republican Party is gone to pits; none of the leadership at this time represents the party's original idea of less government, balancing the budget and the pledge and commitment to one nation. I am sure there silent majority of Republicans need a voice and I will speak up. http://americatogetherfoundation.blogspot.com/2011/05/mike-ghouse-speaks-on-buidling-cohesive.html

Mike Ghouse admonishes Brigitte Gabriel on Hannity Show

http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/05/mike-ghouse-admonishes-brigitte-gabriel.html
(This note in parenthesis added on Sunday at 8:30 PM - Dr. Akbar Ahmed's take, I am thrilled to see my reflections and words in the links and articles below are also reflected by Dr. Ahmed, I hold him very high and it is a delight for me - http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/episodes/may-6-2011/the-death-of-osama-bin-laden/8775/ )

Today, Brigitte and I were at each others throats on Hannity's nationally syndicated radio about Bin Ladin.  The half hour segment was aired twice. It was all done while I was driving from Houston to Dallas, a total of 9 hours on road consuming nearly 6 hours of NPR and other talk radio shows. I must thank Hannity for updating on facebook, twitter and announcing several times on the Radio and giving prominence on his website -http://www.hannity.com/guests  I did not realize I have such a huge audience and I am yet to respond to the hundreds of emails I get.
I am pleased several guests after me including Oliver North took the same position as I did.
I need to get the MP3 (?) Audio version and upload on my site, when I googled I found this particular one amusing;
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/8978654-hannity-demands-obl-photo-in-spite-of-danger-to-us-troops-citizens

Hannity's guest Brigitte Gabriel also demanded the photo, saying Obama should not have given Osama a dignified burial at sea, rather we should have desecrated his corpse by wrapping it in bacon and putting it in a sideshow for people to see for a dollar. Gabriel was admonished by guest Michael Ghouse for such an immoral idea, saying Americans are better than the extremists. Ghouse said we have better morals and are about justice, not revenge, hate or escalating violence. Gabriel said we need to show anyone who might mess with us that they will be killed and their bodies desecrated.

Laura Hornbeck wrties on facebook :: I heard some of your comments today on the radio, Mike. Thank you. You spoke clearly and your appeal to a "higher standard" was most timely. It's so natural, in a way, to respond to evil with hatred. To want to, as Brigitte said, "wrap Bin ...Laden's body in bacon and show him to Americans." But being natural usually isn't being godly. That's what is so incredibly hard about Jesus' teachings to love one's enemies, to even bless those who curse us.

I quoted the Bible hate not the sinner but sin, there is a great wisdom in it. If we want the world to be a better place, we have to set the example and not lower ourselves to the ones we believe are wrong.

Would you have sanctioned the death of Osama bin Laden?

Twelve Panelists have weighed in on it, you can see the struggle in the responses, and many have take an approach similar to mine.  I am happy that he is gone, but I killing him was not the right thing.  I wrote this piece 3 days ago, and at least three of the writers have taken a similar stand, the link to the other 11 points is given below.

MIKE GHOUSE, President, Foundation for Pluralism, Dallas

No, I would not have sanctioned the death of Osama Bin Laden.

First of all, there was no need to have killed the man, when the Seals encountered Bin Laden they could have released gases or other elements to knock out and capture him alive. We need to hear more about it from the Navy Seals, if in fact they were in danger to have shot him twice in his head?

The right thing would have been to put him on the trial, just as we did with the Nuremberg, Saddam Hussein and other trials. We could have learned a lot more about his other secret plans that may still be attempted by his loyalists. The world would have witnessed that we care about the rule of law and reinforced it through a time honored process.

Secondly, it has set a bad precedent. Even though the end result benefits humanity, the means were not kosher. It has opened up the doors for others to replicate, thus we 'may' have lost the moral upper hand to stop others from extra judicial killings.

Thirdly, no religion permits one to kill the other. Torah and Quran and other holy books do not see any wisdom in killing the other without an imminent threat to one's own life. Both the books say, to save a life is like saving the whole humanity and the corollary to that is to kill a human is like killing the whole humanity. What is the difference between somewhat pregnant and pregnant? Jesus condemned the sin and not the sinner.

I am glad his body was respectfully dropped in the sea instead of a ground burial. If the choice was given to Bin Laden, he would have preferred this over a ground burial which could have become a shrine to his followers, and that is not acceptable to a Wahhabi Muslim. The last rites were indeed handled appropriately and the Muslims appreciate that. God loves the one who forgives and lives in peace with himself.

Finally for the record, I stand opposed to assassinations, killings and death penalty. Unless it was in self defense, we are morally wrong in killing Bin Laden.

However, it feels good that he is not alive anymore. Mind you, that is different than cheering for his death which we should not do.

His end brings a sense of relief and closure to families who have lost nearly 3000 of their loved ones. Muslims have more to rejoice than others; they were not only victims of his terrorism like all of us, but were also subjects of harassment by several governments around the world, in the airports as well as employment and ordinary acts of life. The Sikh community also endured the grief out of mistaken identity. We pray that the Taliban mind set and the oppression of women in Afghanistan also comes to an end.

It is one of the best news items Muslims have had in a decade; it brings a sense of relief and hopefully restores the relationship between Muslim and Non-Muslims in building a cohesive America. Thank God, an evil era has come to an end with the death of this man.

Hannity, Horowitz and Ghouse on Air today

http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/04/hannity-horowitz-and-ghouse-on-air.html
Hannity, Horowitz and Ghouse on nationally syndicated Radio. It will be on 5:00 EST again. Check your local listings -http://www.hannity.com/stations

These are my random notes and I did not have a chance to organize my thougts and language.

David Horowitz will probably not ask for me again to be on Air with him, I was assertive in letting him know that he was misinformed about Islam, his lack of knowledge was obvious when he talked about Quraan. He said,  he visited my site and asked for me on Hannity today. I am glad he did, it is possible he may have a heart for the truth and is simply misled by the financial gains in bashing Islam.

Sean introduced me as President of ACT for America and immediately corrected himself that it was Brigitte Gabriel’s organization and mine was America together Foundation. I am glad he gave a plug when I mentioned to him that Brigitte inspired me to form the organization to do exactly opposite of what she does; to pit one American against the other.  He said he will tell her that.  I am glad the message is communicated.  The organization info is at: http://www.americatogetherfoundation.com/

The program was about Burqa – It is not a religious requirement but a cultural evolvement and change can come only though education and not compulsion.  I am not for Burqa but I will defend any woman’s right to wear what she chooses. Men should be exiled to caves who force women to do anything against their will.

The creep Osama bin Laden wants to force women to wear Burqa and the other creep Sarkozy wants to force women not to wear. What do these brutes think? Women are a plaything?

Was it the French who thought women were their chattels, and they can force them to do anything?

Should not women have the right to eat, drink, wear and believe what they want?

I hope all the French women wear Burqa one day, let them do what they can. It is the wrong law to have passed and we cannot have such evil laws forcing women.

Men can be fined for forcing women to wear the Burqa, but no woman should be told what to wear or not wear and no woman should be fined for her freedom.

As usual the right wingers keep jumping from topics to topics, and ironically, Horowitz calls the verse from Quraan to be removed which he claimed calls Jews to be apes. I was assertive in telling him that he was dead wrong and there is no such verse in Quraan. http://quraan-today.blogspot.com/2008/01/jews-turned-into-apes.html  Indeed shamelessly a few Muslims subscribe to that non-sense; that God Judges his own creation before the Day of Judgment.

I have challenged him to go face to face on any verse in Quraan. There is nothing evil in it, let’s have it head on.

The man jumped again by telling that the Brotherhood was calling on destruction of Israel, and I reminded him that evil individuals exist every where; there was a Rabbi who said it was ok to Kill Palestinian children and some 200 Rabbis have endorsed it – he denied that report.

What is the burning desire in him to malign and falsify a religion? He was evasive about it.

He jumps again to the next branch accusing ISNA, CAIR and other organizations claiming they are arms of Brotherhood, and I told him that it pays to him say that, there is no evidence or proof of that.

Mine was the last word and I summed it up by saying that women should have the freedom to wear and not be forced upon what they can or cannot wear.  I told him that he is dead wrong in reading and quoting the mistranslated verses for his advantage, truth needs to be told and nothing beats looking up the book.
My phone went dead in the middle and lost the time to ask the question upon reconnection that has he attempted to seek truth about Quraan and Muslims? He said he went through all my websites and did not find condemnations, indeed there are many, he just did not look for it.

Who are the Rebels in Libya, my talking points on Hannity

http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/03/who-are-rebels-in-libya-my-talking.html

Who are the Rebels in Libya, my talking points
Mike Ghouse on Hannity Show.

The commanders are having difficulty identifying the Gaddaffi loyalists, as all of them are in civil clothing.

The intelligence sources are finding an easy way out to “guess” Al Qaeda and Hezbollah among rebels.

President Reagan’s wisdom echoes in my ears, “Trust but verify,” we need to quit guessing and blunder as we did with WMD and Iraq.

If we cannot aim target Gaddafi, we should not fire.

Caution is preferable to blind shooting; we are not there to shoot, but there to protect the civilians from the massacre.

Throwing Gaddafi is the responsibility of the Libyans and not ours, we are there to prevent a massacre and NOT to fight for them.

It would be wrong for us to take the responsibility and deprive the Libyans the freedom they would have earned, cherished and worked to preserve it. They should own their freedom; it is theirs to be had. We should be no more than a catalyst.

We need to demand the NATO commander to produce verifiable information to be certain that Al Qaeda and Hezbollah are with the rebels. We should not simply be nincompoops to buy what is dished out. The media needs to question every thing to the point of harassment. Truth is more important.

The usage of the phrase Allahu Akbar, which is God is great is common among Muslims, the Al-Qaida Gang uses it and it is used when the Green bay Packers won the super bowl.  When your Jewish friends little girl kicks the goal in soccer, Allahu Akbar is said out loud.

Muslims routinely use the words like Allahu Akbar to appreciate things and not necessarily as a battle cry. They seek refuge in a higher power. In the Libyan context, it simply means God is great, Gaddaffi is not.
It does not mean they are Al-Qaida or Hezbollah; there are rumors that Israel is helping Gaddaffi with mercenaries as well. None of this must be believed blindly.

Neither CIA nor Mossad had inkling about it, and whatever they mustered to cook up, they did. Even the day before Mubarak resigned, their information was not accurate.

President Reagan had called the same Al-Qaeda Mujahedeen, the heroes; they were paid by us to fight the Russians. In case of Libya, they people are battling with Gaddaffi for freedom.

President Reagan’s missile nearly missed Gaddaffi, why can’t we focus on getting this one guy out… just this guy out; every one of his loyalists will disperse once the chief is gone.

We have an opportunity to regain our dignity we lost in Iraq and Afghanistan by targeting the civilians; we have to be an example to the world in civility. We should resist all the temptations to act like them, trigger happy.

Mike Ghouse

Gaddafi and beyond; a challenge for the Neocons and Muslims alike

Beyond Gaddafi; a challenge for the neocons and muslims alike
http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/02/gaddafi-and-beyond-challenge-for.html

When I went on Fox’s Sean Hannity Show last week, we were to talk about Gaddafi’s call to Muslims to rise against the White people, here were my talking points.
Gaddaffi knew he has got a few days left, and as usual he wanted to fool the Muslims across the world to rise up by manufacturing an enemy that was not there. Who was he fooling? All the damned dictators and fascist live in a shielded bunker, their cohorts keep giving them false advise that they are in control, as if they are God eternal.
Gaddafi is deflecting the issue to take the pressure off, he is delusional.  If the SOB thinks he can get away from shooting his people, he is in for a treat; he will have to disgracefully run from his country. He simply needs to announce that he will bring genuine democracy where ever a Libyan has a choice to support who she or he wants to support freely. Qur’aan adds, there is no compulsion in the matters of faith, in this case faith in those who can provide them just governance.
There are 12 nations that carry an Islamic label and are about to fall, one after the other from the hands of corrupt men in to the hands of people and through non-violence, civil disobedience and other peaceful means. The Right wingers have highlighted the actions of the few and push Muslims into a cage they did not belong. Muslims are freeing themselves from such imposed cages.
No doubt there will be chaos, but people can handle their own affairs well and out of chaos will emerge a fledgling governance of the people by the people for the people.  It is sheer arrogance to believe that they cannot, they said the same thing about India, Indonesia and several other nations.
It is a testing time for the right wingers in America, UK and Israel to open up and show if they really want democracies around or were they simply faking it and misleading the public through the American TV networks. The same goes to the monarchs and dictators.
I wish the Mossad and CIA were reliable intelligence agencies; they have cooked up and lied to please the bosses and the public. It gave me hopes that even Sean Hannity saw acknowledged that in one of our interviews.
Have they come with anything reliable from Iran to Afghanistan to Iraq and Egypt? They will be wrong again on the other nations and eventually on Pakistan. People can take only so much shit; they will revolt and those of us in America need to stand firmly and prepare the right-wingers to support the people movements; else, we are going to lose many of those nations to Russia or Iran. Militarily, we cannot fight in every nook and corner and go through another budget deficit and ruin our own country in attempting to ruin others. Our own interests should be a priority.
As a Muslim, I am thrilled to see an end to dictatorships and theocracies. Here is a challenge for Muslims; Prophet Muhammad did not have an Islamic Government during his time, it was more like pluralistic governance where the Jews, Christians and others were signatories to the Madinah pact, he has repeatedly said and demonstrated to treat all the people of the book (meaning following written guidelines) with respect and the Qur’aan says whether you are a Jew, Christian or other God will. We need to find the original document where the prophet may have signed it as Muhammad bin Abdullah as opposed to Muhammad Rasool Allah, as he had done in another peace treaty with Meccans.

Unity Church the birth place of Quraan Conference

A successful conference on Qur’aan was initiated by America Together Foundation at the Unity Church with ten panelists representing different faiths. It was not an Islamic or a Muslim conference, it was indeed an American conference where the beliefs of one group of Americans were mis-represented by the other and the need to de-falsify was in critical to build a cohesive America.
We thank the Unity Church for their support, pictures and the details are http://www.quraanconference.com/
I was on Fox TV discussing Egypt with Sean Hannity and Robert Spencer and the topic turned to Qur’aan.
Here is the latest on Fox TV with Hannity and Spencer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Q64RUxSd4
Spencer goes on to mis-quote Quraanic verses. There is not a holy book that tells its followers to lie, and Spencer says it is an Islamic thing to lie and pretend. He should know better than that, Americans are not dumb people, they will verify it before believing him. He was quoting verse 3:28 and I am producing verses 3:25 through 3:31 for the readers to judge.
You can buy a copy of the Qur’aan translated by Mohammad Asad or go online at http://www.islamicity.com/QuranSearch/ and plug in the verse numbers 3:28 and search with Asad translation.
If you are a researcher and have a genuine interest in finding the truth, we will furnish you an authenticated copy of the Qur’aan translation by Muhammad Asad.

The organization, America Together Foundation will focus on bringing Americans together with a series of educational programs to address the critical issues facing our nation in an open forum to find pluralistic solutions to restore the cohesiveness of our society and work towards building a safe and secure America. No American has to live in anxieties, discomfort or fear of the other. Programs on GLBT, Anti-Semitism, Racial Profiling, social justice and other issues are in the planning stage.

Sean Hannity, Brotherhood, Spencer, Qur’aan and Ghouse

Sean Hannity is indeed excited about the Muslim Brotherhood. However he exercises caution and avoids outright condemnation, it is a positive shift in his judgementalistic approach towards anything that is Muslim and Islamic and I admire that. I am glad he brings a semblance of another point of view to the American public, that is a step in the right direction and I welcome it.
Even though he recites that they want to impose Sharia and the Caliphate, he does not exhibit his confidence about their evilness.  In my last two appearances on his show he asks, “Michael, what if you are wrong about the Brotherhood and I am right”.
Although I build the scenario if I were wrong, I maintained that the Brotherhood does not have a strong foothold in this uprising from the twitter and facebook youth who seek the freedom model of America. I am glad to see the reinforcement for my analysis by Juan Cole and Bruce Riedel in the USA Today.

Neither Israel nor America need to fear the Brotherhood, if we push them to the corner without choices, then we need to fear them, if we frigthen others, others will frighten us equally. Instead we need to part take with the aspirations of the people and we will increase the chances of not losing them.
American interests
Obama is the first America president since Reagan to have said and done the right thing; to be with the people. Indeed our foreign policy ought to be based on people to people relationship to sustain it, instead of the Shahs, Mubaraks, Netanyahus and the Bushs’ who will come and go but the nurtured public attitudes will stay.
Indeed, Obama scored a victory with people around the Middle East who opted non-violence to bring about a change and that means real long term stability for us, them and Israel once we pass through the turmoil stage. We will not be looked up as Killers of innocent Iraqis, even though we are delusional and proclaim ourselves to be their saviors.
We stand for justice and liberty, and we have shown that to the people that we mean and stand by freedom.
Israeli interest:
The Israeli public and the Jewish people have the same aspirations for peace and security as the Palestinians, Egyptians, Americans and others. Sadly, they are not represented by their government as was the case during Bush in America.
Israeli leaders nearly messed that up by urging America to support Mubarak. Peace treaty is between the people of Egypt and Israel and not between Netanyahu and Mubarak or Begin and Sadat. You cannot go against a people and expect a mortal dictator to upkeep the treaty, if you do that you are under constant fear of the continuance of the regime and consequential insecurity.  You cannot be secure if people and nations around you are not. Both Israel and America need a serious review of their foreign policy.
If Israel acts and represents the wishes of her people and Joins America in supporting the people, we can be a part of the aspirations of the Egyptian people in shaping self governance and freedom of speech to begin with. The Israeli public needs to speak up if not, they will keep getting what they got; threats and counter threats.
Here is the latest on Fox TV with Hannity and Spencer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Q64RUxSd4
Robert Spencer sells fear.
Robert Spencer never misses an opportunity to sell hate and fear; a source of his livelihood. He has been on the wrong side, he was goofy on the issue of the park 51Mosque near Ground Zero and now on Egypt, he knows the right wingers will fall for it and pour donations on his website for cooking up and maintaining an enemy for them.
Spencer goes on to mis-quote Quraanic verses. There is not a holy book that tells its followers to lie, and Spencer says it is an Islamic thing to lie and pretend. Did he think Americans are dumb and won’t verify his falsities? He was quoting verse 3:28 and I am producing verses 3:25 through 3:31 for the readers to judge.
