Texas Faith: Do we thirst too much for political leaders?

We can deal with the resolute Obama rather than a wishy-washy Romney with no convictions of being a moderate, liberal or conservative. As a moderate Republican, I was hoping for Mitt Romney to be our next president, but I am afraid he will repeal everything on his first day in the office; derail the stabilizing economy and job situation, mess with health security, control women’s freedom, be unkind towards gays and lesbians, and ignore the ones in ditches. I would rather have Barack Obama’s stability than Romney’s chaos - Mike Ghouse

Resolute Obama v. WishyWashy Romney

Texas Faith: Do we thirst too much for political leaders?
I love our democracy as much as the next person. And I really like the thrill of a campaign. But it has been 10 months and many dollars since New Hampshire and we still haven’t selected the next president. At moments during this marathon, it has felt like we spend too much time and energy searching for a leader, almost like a people who want a king to come fix their problems for them - William McKenzie, Religion editor.
What do you think? Is this just democracy-in-action? Or are we too hungry for a leader?

MIKE GHOUSE, President, Foundation for Pluralism, Dallas

The process of electing our president is one of the best practices of democracy-in-action. Of course, we are the founders of the representative system of governance, and have established proven structures to find the best possible leader.

Indeed, we do thirst for a leader who would be our idol, who can keep us safe from outside forces, secure at home, bring stability to the nation, guard our freedom, and be a catalyst in the pursuit of our happiness. That’s a tall order.

The year-long vetting process is fairly identical to the making of the American Idol, where a number of hopefuls participate, and one of them will finally make it through the primaries. By then, he or she would have learned, competed and excelled to get the nomination of the party in a completely open process. There is nothing like it. Indeed, it is the most competitive training in leadership.

The nominee now competes with the experienced one, the incumbent president, and demonstrates his or her maturity in dealing with contingencies like Sandy, the economy, jobs, the well-being of the citizenry, protecting the Constitution, foreign affairs, fulfilling the role of president and being an idol to the best of his or her ability. This is as entertaining and exciting as watching the football games or the American Idol.

No wonder, we have the most stable government in the annals of world history. Our presidents do not wing it, as they would have learned enough and documented their stance on issues, which would become their guiding principle to be held accountable for the next four years.

Personally, as a moderate Republican, I was hoping for Mitt Romney to be our next president. But I am afraid he will repeal everything on his first day in office; derail the stabilizing economy and job situation; mess with health security; control women’s freedom; be unkind towards gays and lesbians; and ignore the ones in ditches. I rather have Barack Obama’s stability than Romney’s chaos. We can deal with the resolute Obama rather than wishy-washy Romney with no convictions of being a moderate, liberal or conservative.

The Texas Faith blog is a discussion among formal and informal religious leaders whose faith traditions express a belief in a transcendent power – or the possibility of one. While all readers are invited to participate in this blog, by responding in the comments section, discussion leaders are those whose religion involves belief in a divine higher power or those who may not believe in a transcendent power but leave room for the possibility of one. Within this framework, moderators William McKenzie and Wayne Slater seek to bring a diversity of thinkers onto the Texas Faith panels.

Frustrations with Obama

We the Republicans for Obama,  are pissed off at our President Obama for not bragging on his record of turning around a free falling economy, delivering stability, standing up for the average American.. continued at:
http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2012/10/frustrations-with-obama.html

I was in a luncheon in Louisville today, and it was good to hear so many republicans voting for Obama.

Most of us Republicans are pissed off at President Obama for not bragging on his record of turning around a free falling economy, delivering stability for America, protecting women's rights, recognition of every American on an equal footing and securing America’s health, diplomacy that is producing results, and restoring respect for America in the community of nations by treating them on an equal basis instead of pursuing a bullying foreign policy that will build resentment towards us, and endanger our freedom.

Axelrod and company need to bombard the ads with simple suggestions of stability v chaos, certainty v uncertainty... Obama has an edge; he just needs to express it... I have presented a ton of ammunition... It's all at Huffington post, Dallas morning news, smirking chimp, even Hannity and of course at www.TheGhouseDiary.com where you can plug Obama in the search box and get everything you need to brag about Obama.

I'm glad a few more fellow Republicans have joined me in re-electing Obama. Given what the flip flop, chaotic, pandering Romney will do to America; Obama will keep it stable, and bring health security to the nation. And that is what we need now instead of getting screwed on day 1 of Romney.

As a patriotic American, its America first to me, I cannot let America be compromised over party’s interest. If America is there our party will be there and not vice versa.

Final Presidential debate in Boca Raton

Romney did not lose the debate, but Obama gained the points with independent voters.

I watched the debate at Angelica Theater in Dallas and it was hilarious, as the public was making comments while booing cheering and jeering, it was a lively debate. The first big laugh came when Romney said he believed in gender equality, rights for women overseas...

Every one of the debate was a shocker, Obama slept through the first one and in the 2nd and final one, Romney was going through different avatars of the chameleon, he took new positions today. Romney really did not have anything new to add, except agreeing with the president.

Obama used some of the words and concepts, I have written in my foreign policy article at Huffington post today, glad it was published before he spoke. It’s happened many times before, he nearly speaks in similar tones as I do, the reason I say that is I pre-empt his speeches.

Please do read my piece on foreign policy at Huffington post, “The choice between Chaotic Romney and Stable Obama.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-ghouse/chaotic-romney-and-stable-obama_b_1998900.html

I wish Obama had said this, “Governor Romney, I am glad you support my foreign policy, thank you, you don’t need to run, I will continue with the good policies that you have been so generous to endorse.”

Foreign Policy debate tonight - Huffngton post

Huffington post will be publishing a piece on foreign policy today, "Foreign policy debate tonight: The choice between Chaotic Romney and Stable Obama administration."

The full article will be at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-ghouse and a few abstracts at www.TheGhouseDiary.com

Obama has set in motion the process of stabilizing the economy, and we are cruising through it towards restoring America, we are on the right trajectory.
Romney on the other hand is inclined to upset everything and will take us back to the Bush era on his first day in the office, if he were elected. Why on the earth would we want to choose Chaos over Stability?

"No one significant has cried about the death of Bin Laden or Awalaki. Had President Bush followed Obama policy of getting the wrong guy, instead of his religion and his country, we would not have seen the devastation in our own country, let alone others."

"Had Obama pandered to Netanyahu and the front runners in the Republican primaries, the newly elected government in Egypt would have flagrantly rejected the peace treaty. "

"Obama has given more aid to Israel than any other president; he is for Israel’s security without pandering to Netanyahu and his right wing bullies, and clearly retaining full Jewish American support.."

"Romney’s loyalty is to Netanyahu (not Israel), and he will threaten to go to war with Iran. When you give an opportunity to an irresponsible urchin, he will threaten every one without any idea about the consequences."

"Romney has not matured in his convictions" - Romney also has two different views, a private view that he shares with the ones who give him money, and the public view that gives the appearance of inclusiveness."

Now if we the Republicans wake up to save the nation from Chaos and move even two points towards Obama and give him 53% and dish out the 47% to Romney (LOL), we will save the nation.

On Wednesday, Sean Hannity and I will be dissecting the foreign policy debate on the nationally syndicated Radio and probably on the Hannity Show details at: http://www.hannity.com/guest/ghouse-mike/10804

Chaotic Romney versus Stabilizing Obama

CHAOTIC ROMNEY VERSUS STABILIZING OBAMA

If we look at these two men running for office on the issues of Security, women, freedom economy, health care and foreign policy, it makes it easy to consider voting for one of them.
Romney's actions (listed below) will push America into Chaos and Regress it back to Bush's 2008 America,  while Obama's efforts will continue to bring stability to America.

The choice between Chaotic Romney and Stabilizing Obama

I have never been alarmed about the future of America as I do now. We have gone through bad times, losing jobs, foreclosure of homes, living on food stamps, budget deficit, sacrifice of thousands of Americans in wars and devastation of other nations and deaths of millions of civilians, and  finally we have a grip on the situation.

On the social front, during the primaries millions of Americans were apprehensive with the harassing attitudes displayed by the candidates. The Women, Mormons, Gay and Lesbians, and Muslim in particular, Hindus and  Buddhists in general ( who were all unashamedly called cults) are relieved, and all other Americans have welcomed this healthy change. It is a relief to see the diminishing role of religions in the general elections.
We have come a long way in accepting each new tradition with suspicion; we still have ways to go, but go, we will. Obama has put an end to that tension for these groups with his bold assertions, that were politically risky. As Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, we owe him another four years to bring full stability to every one of the Americans. No American has to feel apprehension, discomfort or fear of the other.

Obama has set in motion the process of stabilizing and we are right on the trajectory, whereas Romney is inclined to upset everything and will take us back the Bush era.  Why on the earth would people want to choose Chaos over Stability?

Romney has betrayed Republican conservatives more than anyone else, had they known that he would abandon the conservative ideas just to get the bloody votes from the group of independents, they would have continued with their reservations. Essentially Romney is telling the conservative go eff yourselves, as we cannot de-nominate him now.

Romney did not spare any one, he betrayed the Moderate Republicans as well, towards the end of the primaries that carried him thus for with his moderate stance, he switched positions to appease the right to get a percentage to clutch the nomination.

Romney has ditched his base; the moderate Republicans who dumped the extremist elements of the party like Santorum, Bachman, Gingrich, Cain, Perry, Pawlenty and others to give him a hand out.

No one knows which Avatar of Romney will make it, the moderate, conservative or the one for himself.  Now if we the Republicans wake up to save the nation from Chaos and move even two points towards Obama to give 53% to Obama and dish out the 47% to Romney (LOL),  we will make a difference and save the nation.

I am a moderate Republican like millions of others, but unlike others, I have chosen to speak up. It is time for fellow Republicans to save the nation from Chaos and vote for the right candidate and place loyalty to America above the party. If we have America, we have the party and not vice-versa.

OBAMA’S SECURITY
  • Obama has brought stability after the chaotic wars in just 4 years

  • America will be weakened, our soldiers demoralized with no breathing room
  • America will lose again becoming a bully
  • He is likely to bomb Libya for the acts of the terrorists as a revenge to Ben Ghazi
  • He will be itching to bomb Syria, and want to add devatate the budge deficit further.
  • Will bring chaos again
  • Budget Deficits increase, Average Americans (not him) will be screwed
  • He has nothing to lose, he has safe heavens build elsewhere rather then America
OBAMA ON WOMEN
  • Passed Equal pay for women act
  • will preserve the right of women on Abortion
  • will appoint judges who will honor previous Supreme Court decisions
  • will keep government out of Vagina

  • Obama will let the average American keep his deductions

ROMNEY FOR RICH

  • he does not care about half of America, because every other person between you and I are bums.
  • Romney will hit those deductions that help the average Americans
  • Romney will mess up the economy with his experimentation
  • Romney will shut down another major industry in chaos instead of resuscitating it, because he and his buddies see an opportunity to profit from other’s misery.
