De-Radicalizing Muslim Youth, Mississippi Muslim Couple supporting ISIS

DE-RADICALIZING (MUSLIM) YOUTH | TheGhouseDiary.com
Why do the American youth seek thrills in going to extremes? Usually they are loners and don't have many friends... and seek thrills.. join the gangs, drugs and radical groups. Is James Bond their role Model?

Muslim youth are no exception, they are seeking the same as every other youth, most choose the right path, a few make mistakes.

Where do we find them, how do we reach them? How do we rope in those who don't go to mosques, apparently less than a 1/3rd of the youth frequent the mosques about the same or less than the general population.

It is clearly not motivated by religion, even though they 'use' is as a vehicle to 'satisfy' their pent up frustrations or thrill seeking desires.

I NEED SOLUTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM THE YOUTH, IT IS NOT ABOUT RELIGION, IT IS ABOUT OFFERING - I HOPE TO HOLD A BRAINSTORMING SESSION.

ALTERNATIVES to keep them tied to good things of life.

What can we do? Send me an email to MikeGhouse@gmail.com
Thank you.

Town hall Meeting with Mike Ghouse in Dallas about Terrorism

Mike Ghouse’ Townhall meeting | TheGhouseDiary.com

Saturday, January 9, 2017, Dallas, TX – “War on Terror is the dumbest idea ever floated” was the title of my talk, and I spoke at two places; one was a private gathering, and the other was a group from College of Complexes at Roma Pizza Place on Greenville Avenue.

About 60 people attended the event at Roma Pizza Place; this was my 3rd time speaking with this group represented by diverse American political values. There were conservatives, liberals and moderates; Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents, and a whole range in between. I love this group, as rarely do I speak to such political diversity and walk out learning as much as sharing my views.

Three out of sixty were ethnically and racially different – there was me, and a Black Gentleman, and the third one was of either Hispanic or Native America Origin and is running as a libertarian against Republican Congressman Kenny Marchant, whom I have voted twice.

I've been doing these town hall meetings for a while, it is good to be a moderate and have the ability to see different points of view without prejudice. I ask them “ Don’t go home regretting that you should have asked that lingering question, I will welcome any tough question, we are here to place everything on the table, be sincere with our expressions and deal with the issues honestly. You cannot upset me with any question. ” I encourage frank talks and people do open up to me, and hats off to them for dialogue in the most civic manner possible.

Let me take a detour with my background – in the late eighties, I was tuned into David Gold, the talk show host on AM 570 in Dallas, who was so venomous towards Palestinians and Arabs and made a hill out of every mole. They would not take my calls; they would screen the calls and would not take any one who was opposed to him.  Lo and behold, years later David became my tenant, and I had a conversation with him. His income went up with the ratings, and ratings went up with rants and antics, why would he want to dilute his show with facts?  He inspired me to go get my own Radio show in 1996, on AM 1150 which I ran for 5 years – I made sure both sides of the issue were addressed equally and fairly and no opinion was screened out.

I am looking to get going again in Washington DC with a talk show hour, and I am looking for volunteer research assistants to fact check on Limbaugh and his likes, we still have some talk hosts who will not put opposing views, and we will challenge them to facts. Americans deserve to see two sides of the coin, and not bamboozled by one or the other.  I am a moderate,  and there aren’t any moderate shows out there, although a majority of Americans are moderates.

I asked my audience to lay it out and they do. However, it puts a huge responsibility on our shoulders to repair the world, it was not easy to hear fabricated stuff and the propaganda that some of my fellow Americans have bought into, but what can we do, for that is all they know.  I was not surprised to hear Trump justifiers. We have a lot of work to do.

Town hall meetings are true research material, honest people will tell us honestly what they think about the issue, in this case Muslims.

There were several rational and good voices in the meeting, some of them who spoke well for Muslims had one thing in common- I.e., each one of them cited examples of good Muslim interactions-- I was particularly buoyed because, one lady said,  had it not been for the medical treatment she got from the Islamic center of Richardson,  she would not have been alive, and that center was set up and established by my late wife Najma and Dr. Amer Shakil, God bless her and may give the strength to Muslims to do more of this.

The second one was the guy who had attended Texas Muslim Barbeque in Cowboys stadium headed by late Dr. Lalani, and the first few meetings for that big event were held in my house, I was one of the three initiators of it besides Ambassador Ahsani. It is so good to hear its lasting effects almost after a decade. This meeting has pumped me up with the initiatives they I've proposed over the years.

I have responded to some 15 questions, and then about 10 of them shared their 2 minutes  comment, did not get a chance to address them all, but concluded the meeting with a commitment to address them soon.

The full video will be out in 15 days; instead of negatively reacting to those comments,   we have to think, what is that we need to do to fix the problems.

These meetings are helpful in learning about each other, what our problems are, and how we solve them.

We have to become Amins of the society. Praise the lord, many a Hindus Jews, Christians and others consider me as an Amin; the foundation for building cohesive societies.  Amin is some one who tells it like it is, the truth, is trustworthy and around whom people feel secure.

There were several questions and comments - I have made some note and hope to repond to them this week, right here as an update of this note.

Dealing with Terrorism, the Islamic way

Dr. Mike Ghouse, community consultant, social scientist, thinker, writer, news maker, and a speaker on Pluralism, Interfaith, Islam, politics, human rights, India, Israel-Palestine and foreign policy. He is deeply committed to building cohesive societies and offers pluralistic solutions on issues of the day; he will discuss how the Bush and Obama methods of handling terrorism have not worked, where the first method created more terrorism and the second one has not mitigated it.

Also, as a moderate Muslim, Mike will discuss the Islamic way of handling terrorism, to wit:  “Mr. Baghdadi, you have three days to stop killing innocent people and destroying Allah’s creation, life and environment.  If you do not heed the warning, we will hunt you down an ambush wherever you hide.  If not, we will gas you, a few square miles at a time, not to hurt you, but to capture and put you on trial and ask you to give up the false claims you are making about your religion.   Soldiers from around the world will be on the front line against you.”  He argues that blaming the religion is the dumbest thing to do, because we cannot beat, kick, hack, shoot, hang, kill or bury a religion, it’s an intangible thing!

Mike concludes that we can blame the individuals and restore trust and harmony back for the society to function peacefully and cohesively. See also  http://thearabdailynews.com/2015/11/19/war-terror-dumbest-idea-ever-floated/

American Muslims are proud of taking the right steps towards integration

American Muslims are proud of taking the right steps towards integration. www.AmericanMuslimInstitution.org

On Friday, November 20, 2015, the American Muslims took a bold step in their journey towards being-one with fellow Americans.

The American Muslim Institution (AMI) led the demonstrations against Terrorism and Daesh on the steps of Lincoln Memorial;  this historic location was chosen to mirror the efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who brought a positive change to the American civil society with his immortal, “I have a dream speech" on the very same steps.

It was indeed a symbolic event for American Muslims, and the foundation for a positive change was laid. The next event was held within hours across the White House by ADAMS Center and another one by APPNA at Dupont Circle the very next day. Now, it is gathering momentum.

The apprehensions and the conflicts Muslims feel is a result of actions and reactions feeding each other. The Media is blamed for amplifying the negative portrayal of Muslims, while our own attitudes have also contributed towards to the feeding frenzy. It is time to change the equation.

Mother Teresa had said if you want to make peace with your enemies, go talk with them. Praise the Lord, we have begun the process.  Media is not our enemy; they are merely reflecting the fears of a few, some of them have not taken the time to differentiate between religion and its followers, and have mistaken us with the Daesh, Talibans, Al-Qaeda and their ilk. It is our duty to correct these gross errors on a continual basis. God willing, we hope to conduct seminars and workshops with the media to rectify some of the false perceptions about us. Good and healthy communications can always pave the way for better understanding.

We hear, "the proof is in the pudding", indeed it is. In the following links (four videos), listen to the tone of Sean Hannity, Stuart Varney, and Richard Ray of Fox News. They have responded to positive engagement. There is a new emerging language of understanding and support. What has not worked is disengagement; I would rather engage and fail than cause us to dig in our heels.

The American Muslim Institution is formed with three specific goals - work with the media, mitigate Islamophobia and speed up the process of integration. We hope to get to the point where fellow Americans will see Muslims as their neighbors and fellow citizens, committed to fight against violent extremism and to protect the homeland. No more them against us, it will be all of us working together for a prosperous, secure and cohesive America. .

Since August 4th, we have been written up in nearly 300 media outlets, this event at Lincoln Memorial has produced nearly 60 Media reports-videos and write ups.  You can Google "American Muslim Institution." Insha Allah, we will upload all of them including our own video and pictures on this site www.AmericanMuslimInstitution.org  within a few weeks.

An integrated society functions effectively when we are all on the same page with our uniqueness.  When we demonstrated against Terrorism and Daesh on the steps of Lincoln Memorial, it resonated with fellow Americans; both of us were against the monsters.  When we celebrate 4th of July in the biggest possible way, it will resonate with fellow Americans; both of us become fellow patriots.  When armed protesters head towards Mosques with a confused intent, we can greet them with kindness and caring hospitality, hoist American flags on our mosques grounds, serve grilled hot dogs and water, the hostility will dissipate and they will view us as fellow Americans instead of perceived hostility. We must connect with them instead alienating them.

Of course, I suggest our Friday Sermons to teach us in dealing with conflicts in the most simple way.

Islamophobia? Right now 63% of Americans don't see Muslims favorably; we can bring this number down to 32% in 3 years. If you are willing to do certain basic things. I will be happy to give a talk and present practical action plan to your group,  listing seven little and seven big things we can do to shape our future with fellow Americans. We cannot postpone this and live in misery for another decade.

Fox's Varney Complains That American Muslims Haven't "Demonstrat[ed] On The Streets" To Denounce Terror

We have the plans and we will get it done.
Mike Ghouse

----

Fox News - Stuart Varney: "I'm Simply Saying That Muslims In America Have Yet To Show A Sizeable Street Demonstration Condemning Terror"

On the November 17 edition of Fox Business' Varney & Co., host Stuart Varney complained that American Muslims have not condemned the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, demanding of his guest "a public demonstration of where you're coming from" with "tens of thousands of Muslims" and "a big sign." Varney failed to note that numerous American Muslim organizations have condemned the attacks, calling them "ruthless and senseless acts of violence" and saying ISIS has "hijacked our religion."

STUART VARNEY (HOST): Muslims around the world condemning the attacks in Paris on social media. Mike Ghouse is with us, and he's with the America Together Foundation, which represents some Muslims in the United States. Mike, here's what I would like to see, and here's what I think most Americans would like to see. We would like to see tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Muslims, demonstrating on the streets of America, openly, overtly saying no, we reject terror. We reject ISIS. So far, sir, I've not seen anything like that. Will we?
MIKE GHOUSE: Well, the planning is underway. I think Muslims are getting together to put a beautiful plan together to condemn terrorism. Stuart, every mosque in Washington, D.C., and in the America, we have done the candlelight vigil. Everyone has issued a statement condemning the terrorism. First of all, blaming your religion is the dumbest idea out there.
VARNEY: No, no, no, I am not blaming the religion, sir, I'm not. I'm absolutely not blaming the religion. I'm simply saying that Muslims in America have yet to show a sizable street demonstration condemning terror. I've not seen it, and I think a lot of Americans would like to see it.
GHOUSE: Well, we are planning on it, as I said earlier.
VARNEY: When is it going to take place?
GHOUSE: I'm sorry?
VARNEY: When is it going to take place?
GHOUSE: We are planning somewhere towards the end of December or January, throughout America --
VARNEY: Why? Why does it take so long? If you feel so strongly about something -- Paris has just been devastated by terror. If you feel strongly about it, if you want to state your position, you get out thereand you do it.
GHOUSE: Well, we are writing an op-ed, I'm here with you, and today there is a big op-ed coming up. War on terror is the dumbest idea floated ever. Bush terror -- war on terror didn't work. Obama's didn't work. There is an Islamic way to deal with this terrorist and the Islamic way is the right way to deal with now.
VARNEY: What is it? Tell us now, sir, what is it? What's the Islamic way of dealing with Islamic terror?
GHOUSE: Absolutely. President Obama to go on the television with the consensus of United Nations and tell Mr. [Abu Bakr al-] Baghdadi [leader of ISIS], you got three days to lay down your arms. If not, we're going to hunt you down and get you. And this - we are doing it for the Islamic way. In Islam, God has created everything in balance. You are messing up with that balance. And because of that, Islam allows you to go get you wherever you are, ambush you, and kill you. We are not intending to kill you, but we are wanting to do is put you on the trial and prove to the world that you are dead wrong. Quran does not support the work you are doing and Islam does not support. It is you are a crazy nut and that's why we are going to get at you. We are going to gas one square mile at a time in Iran and -- not to kill you but to capture you and put you on the trial.
VARNEY: Why don't you, or some of your supporters or some of the people in your organization, just get a sign? A big sign, all walk outside in New York City or Washington, D.C., and say, "Hey, you, ISIS, we're coming to get you. We're going to kill you the Islamic way because you are the scum of the Earth." Would you like to make that kind of -- I'm not being facetious and sarcastic, but I'm waiting for some action here.
GHOUSE: Stuart, thanks for suggesting that. I will take the lead, we will get this sign made, and we will do it right here in Washington, D.C. And you will be the first one to be informed about the date and time.
VARNEY: Very good. Sir, that's excellent. We look forward to it, Mike Ghouse, we look forward to it, yes we do. I'm sorry, I'm out of time, and I'm not trying to cut you off here. But that's important, we need a public demonstration of where you're coming from. Not on Facebook, not on some web posting. Out there, in public, where everybody can see you and tell how you feel.

Fox News : Missing Malaysian Plane and Terrorism angle on Sean Hannity show with Brigitte Gabrielle and Mike Ghouse

This is a rush transcript from "Hannity," March 12, 2014. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
SEAN HANNITY, HOST:  And this is a Fox News Alert. A Chinese government agency is reporting tonight that it has satellite images of suspected debris from the missing Malaysian Airlines plane. Meanwhile, authorities are still not ruling out the possibility that terrorism played a role in the disappearance of the airliner. Remember, this happened on Saturday.

Joining me now to talk more about the tragic possibility are Act for America president Brigitte Gabriel and the president of the America Together Foundation, Mike Ghouse.

Mike, look, we live in a post-9/11 world. Does your first thought go towards terrorism? I have -- I am unapologetic in saying that's where my thoughts go to.

MIKE GHOUSE, AMERICA TOGETHER FOUNDATION: Well, you're absolutely right. That was my thought and the thought of many Muslims. Praying God, I wish it is not terrorism. And you're right, Sean, that goes out.

But first of all, my prayer to the victims of the 293rd (ph) people who died. And also, I want to condemn the cavalier attitude of the aviation minister of Malaysia. The guy said...

HANNITY: Oh, they've been awful.

GHOUSE: ... the Chinese -- Chinese (INAUDIBLE) to nothing. And I was very upset with that.

HANNITY: All right, Brigitte, I mean, this is the world we live in. And it seems, you know, in a post-9/11 world, it would be foolish not to suspect right out of hand that this could be an incident of terrorism, right?

BRIGITTE GABRIEL, ACT FOR AMERICA PRESIDENT: Exactly. And I believe, Sean, that both the Chinese and the Malaysians believed immediately that it had something to do with terrorism.

Listen, the Taiwan national security bureau already warned China that there going to be a terrorist attack against the Beijing airport and the subways just few days before this disappearance of this airline.

Also, China has been on high alert regarding terrorism, especially after the first of the month, March 1st, where there was a terrorist attack in a train station, where 29 people were killed and 140 injured.

The Chinese government suspects it is a group called the East Turkistan Islamic Movement, which is a separatist movement in China trying to declare independence from China. They are also known as ethnic Uighurs. As you may remember, Sean, we had three of them in Gitmo arrested because they were fighting with Al Qaeda that we -- China did not want them back. We ended up sending them to Bermuda, where we settled them three years ago.

HANNITY: All right...

GABRIEL: So that's what the Chinese know, and that's what they are dealing with.

HANNITY: All right, Mike, your final thought?

GHOUSE: Well, I'm glad we were able to find the debris. What a relief to the families that at least they know they are dead. It did not disappear somewhere in the air. That is a big relief. And again, my prayers go out to the victims. And again, I condemn the Malaysian minister for taking that cavalier attitude. We should worry about every life. Every life is precious, and I hope we find out...

HANNITY: But the debris is the first -- the debris gives us the answer. Was this an act of terror, was it an accident of some kind?

All right, guys, thank you both for being with us. Appreciate it.
