Perry will be the nominee if he keeps up

Presidential debate on September 7, 2011

Perry and Romney are the front runners with a wild card Huntsman, together they got the most time in this debate. If they keep up, they can march forward. Bachman came in to the light now and then as a surprise, as if she did not exist, same was with Gingrich. Why don’t these guys drop out and let the three debate more intensively and receive some serious grilling and fine tuning. These are my random, unedited, random notes I sent on Twitter, I just don't have the time to fix to put in flowing manner.

His cocky attitude towards death penalty has appealed to the right, his Ponzi word earned him the support from the conspirators on the right.... he was prepared well. But he has two negatives; the executive order that was thrown ...out by the legislature and anti-Federal Government but yet recipient of federal grants. He caught himself short somewhere about wanting federal funds... he did not complete the sentence. He was anti-regulations and yet he was regulating on abortive mothers and teens...

I like Obama, voted for him, held two rallies, wrote over a dozen articles in his favor.. He operates from the idea that all are mature people and will do their job without breathing on their necks. The Tea party people listen to shut up kind of language and Obama is not adept in it as a result they are creating a mess. Debt ceiling should have been increased for the job growth and Obama should have threatened to veto or go 14. He did not do that, he wants consensus from radicals and it ain't going to happen. A sign of weak leadership.

As a Moderate Republican I am hoping a good competitive candidate; somehow none of the Republicans in the front line are moderates and I do not relate with them. Huntsman sounds good to me so far, on the other hand, Perry could not do the damage Bush had done when we have a strong Democratic senate and reduced majority of Republicans in the house, he may fit in perfectly.
--
PERRY - Good suit - came across confidentPerry has strong appeal to the conservatives when he talks about punishing those boys and sticking to the guns of ponzi schemes on social security. He has got that Red-neck appeal. The state killing the criminal? Nope's we need to have compassion - What's difference between Iran and Saudi Arabia where they hang and stone to death. He will lose out on sticking to his gun on the Ponzi scheme story on social security. He has negative on issuing an executive order to inoculate the girls against aids, state intervention? No way. Good exchange and come back with Romney
--
ROMNEY - Bad Suit – came across confident
Romney does not have a strong appeal, viewed as intelligent but will not cut it, if he does no improve. Hits Perry in the guise of Obama – what does a guy know who has never worked in private sector Fully prepared to debate, had everything on his finger tips. He keeps scoring negatives on his health care
---
HUNTSMAN - Best Dressed, loved his Tie, looked presidential-
He was eloquent in his response and seems to have vast experience. Makes most sense in his answers, just as Obama does, how much of it is really implementable?
---
BACHMAN – Could have dressed better.
Good on immigration policy though shared a bad example of visiting Florida- just because the Cuban folks in the Restaurants don’t like the policies… what is her take? Moral? Will lose out on thoughtless rhetoric of $ 2/Gallon Gas – Market determines that, not her. Good to see her praise Obama on something…

PAUL – No Presidential looks, sorry Ron
If they (state) feels the obligation to help the poor..... his belief stems from the idea that every individual is independent, healthy and not sick. That is a wrong policy Paul – talk with people who have children born withdiseases, aids from blood transfusion… if it was left to the pre- civil rights act, the locals would let the down trodden die. ]

CAIN – Good suit, clarity in speech
He was on bent on cleaning everything and fixing everything. Life and politics are not logical and he cannot fire people at will, or shut down a business if it is not profitable… can’t do that with life and politics where other lives are dependent.

GINGRICH - he knows the stuff, but the
wrong stuff. No idea why he is there
BRIAN, the Anchorman – Had difficulty in asking
questions, too much talk for short questions

OBAMA-CON-ME? OR Obama economy? I just invented this term

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ON FOX

Republican Presidential debate in Iowa

1. Romney Sticks out
2. Gingrich was good, but his bigotry and wife cheating will sink him
3. Bachman did not shine, her idea on debt will cost her
4. Huntsman is ok,
5. Ron Paul is great but he will not make it
6. Pawlenty, Santorum and Cain - will be gone
7. Perry and Romney - will go foward
8. Evangelicals will axe Romney
9. Perry will be the Nominee, unless he goofs up bad

I wrote 3 pieces against the exclusive prayers of Perry, however except that NY statement on GLBT which he needs to clarify, nothing significantly dumb has come out of Perry's mouth yet. I can understand his need for exclusive prayers with ...his crowd, but as long as it is not against others, he may have a chance.

If I were to venture on something important, it's my family and friends I would pray with and I would extend that benefit to Perry.

Has he made a mess yet?
All indications are that he will make

If he is sincere in representing Americans he needs to demonstrate it by inviting them all to his prayer fest. Americans see God as one, none and many and in every form; male, female, genderless and non-existent, being and non-being, nameless and with innumerable names. He has an opportunity to win public opinion if he chooses to go the middle path representing the majority of Americans.

If he is using this event as a prelude to run for the President, it is another opportunity for him to be a change maker like Presidents Reagan and Clinton who have reshaped the divisive politics into an inclusive one. They were in tune with the sentiments of the moderate majority of Americans; and likewise, it would be difficult to beat Obama with divisive politics, Americans believe in live and let live and who ever aligns with them has a faint chance. http://religionblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/06/is-rick-perrys-day-of-prayer-a.html

Perry for President.

A month ago as a moderate Republican I wrote, unless we find the right Republican candidate, Obama is the best option against the announced Republican candidates who are loaded with bigotry and will tear the cohesive fabric of America.

In the last elections,  I was hoping for Huckabee to make it, but thank God he got dumped, he was drenched in bigotry against fellow Americans. We don't need men like him who will drown us in another war.

Obama is losing; he has not shown his mettle in bringing our men and women back home. America is suffering and he is blowing the money on a war that will not end. He chickened out to the tea partiers, he should have invoked Amendment 14 and tell them to hell with it, and do the right thing for the country, increase the revenues and not lose the credit ratings. Unless he takes a bold step, his leadership remains untenable.

I wrote 3 pieces against the exclusive prayers of Perry, however except that NY statement on GLBT which he needs to clarify, nothing significantly dumb has come out of Perry's mouth yet. KRLD RADIO – MIKE GHOUSE ON RICK PERRY’S SINCERITY

Scott Braddock of CBS news interviewed me on the air this morning about Governor Perry’s initiative about prayers.
Mr. Perry has called in 50 governors to his prayer fest; it amounts to inviting every one of the 301 million Americans. He is not sincere, he is appeasing his voter base, the evangelicals and no one but Evangelicals will be allowed to pray, may be a few token Methodist, Presbyterians and others.

If Perry is sincere, he would call this “exclusive evangelical enclave” and just do it. No one will object to it.  There is no need to pose it as national prayer day or invite the 50 governors. Who is he duping? Do we need a guy like this to run our country?

If he is sincere about America, I expect him to meet with every individual or groups regardless of their affiliations; Klansmen, Wicca, Hindu, Muslims, Atheists, GLBT, Native Americans, Evangelicals or Mormons. He needs to meet with them and listen to them. If they ask him to visit their community center or place of worship, he should do so without being labeled. He represents every American without having to agree with their interests. He should communicate his stand clearly.

On the top of this he is mixing politics with religion. America stands out in the world for keeping the Church and State separate and that is the reason we have had such a great governance of the people for the people. Let religion remain in people’s hearts and state run the civic affairs.  We cannot let America fall to the bottom with such mixing.

If you are a Baptist, Catholic, Mormon or a Methodist out there speaking up for your rights, it is precisely because of the separation of church and state that you have a voice.  If our founding fathers had not done that, you would have had no say. Let’s not mess with what is sacred to our land; separation of Church and State. And I am glad an organization is suing Perry to prevent ruining our nation. Even if you are an evangelical it is in your long time interest to do the right thing.  The world is a better place today because of our model of governance, there is a lot more we need to do, rather than regress.

Stand opposed to ruining America; let the Church and State remain separate.

This note is to appear in Dallas Morning News this Sunday July 10 in sounding off segment.
I do expect the Radicals among us to focus on pitting one American against the other, would that work this time? I hope not, I expect the American Public demand them to tell precisely how they'll turn the economy around, find jobs and restore the well being of the families. We cannot let them get away with weakening America with their war rhetoric and jumping to fight with every one in the world. Hell no to that.

TEXAS FAITH: Is Rick Perry's "Day of Prayer and Fasting" about religion or politics?

Dallas Morning News poses a question a week on issues of the day. Mike Ghouse has been offering his pluralistic take on issues along with a dozen other Texas Faith Panelists. Here is my take and everyone's take is at: http://religionblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/06/is-rick-perrys-day-of-prayer-a.html
The question this week is this: If invited, would you go? Why or why not?
# # #
MIKE GHOUSE, FOUNDATION FOR PLURALISM, DALLAS
If Governor Perry invites, I will join the prayers and perhaps offer to open the event with inclusive greetings and prayers where every American feels welcome. Whether you are a Native American, follow an earth based tradition, believe in one God, multiple representations of God or No God, you must feel the embracive inclusion.

Why would I want to go? Most aspects of life like politics, religion, culture and society remain monopolized by a few, not necessarily because they vehemently guard its ownership, but because others have dug in their heels as well and have not reciprocated to the “half hearted” invitation.  I am committed to work towards a cohesive America, and would not want to miss an opportunity to place every one on a level playing field.

The wisdom is reiterated in every tradition, when an enemy walks toward you in reconciliation, you are to run towards him or her as both will benefit from the ensuing change. Most people follow this advice and some don’t. Indeed, God helps those who help themselves.

If this is a political stunt by Governor Perry, he will fall flat on his face, he has the opportunity to demonstrate his sincerity by giving a dignified space to every belief, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, exclusionists, pluralists, evolutionists and creationists. The Atheists, humanists and others will join if they are honored with space to express their wish for fellow Americas without invoking God. I do hope the prayers are for the wellbeing of every one of the 26 Million Texans and 312 Million Americans.

I am deeply moved by the universality of your sentiments, every one has expressed the desire for this possible prayer to be all inclusive. This is my dream, to build a cohesive America, where every one of the 26 Million Texans and 311 Million Americans feel included and welcome. I am grateful to my City Carrollton, where the Mayors have welcome the Pluralism prayers; all inclusive prayers. Here is a part of the prayer and hope to post the full prayer on the site... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mc9D9guPMY&feature=youtu.be the script is available at: http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/05/pluralism-prayes-at-carrollton-city.html
