Obama will nominate Sri Srinivasan to the Supreme Court, screw the Idiots among republicans.

I had posted the appended article in on April 9, 2013, in which it said, "The stakes in this nomination are clear: if Srinivasan passes this test and wins confirmation, he’ll be on the Supreme Court before President Obama’s term ends."

Lo and behold, the untimely death of Justice Scalia's has brought that thought to reality.   Now, Obama is going to nominate Srinivasan to the Bench, let the rotten few among Republicans screw themselves over for saying they will not confirm any nominee by Obama.

Either they confirm Srinivasan or the Indian Republican Coalition must re-consider their support for Republicans, why throw good money in to dustbin?  

Obama has done a lot of good, he appointed another Indian to Surgeon General and now Srinivasan, and Modi was desperate for some sort of legitimacy from the United States, Obama gave that to him. Bush is the one who declined repeatedly.

I was a republican for 30 some years, and chose to go independent two years ago. Republican party is a good party, but it is run over by the extremists. No one running for President's office are immature, and are loaded with hate for others. If Cruz and Rubio can betray their own heritage, like Jindal has done, they will not spare others.  I am not sure about Bush though, but he is not strong enough to stand up against Trump. 

Nikki Haley is the only shining star of Indian heritage at this time and she will straighten the Republicans if they nominate her as a running mate to the the Republican Presidential Nominee,  and I hope they do to save their own party. She speaks like a sensible Indian and not the right wing republican or right wing BJP guys.  We need some cleaning done among the Republicans, and she can do it.

This is one hell of happy news for us; it’s an expression of integration, that Indians are fully participating and contributing members of the society at large. Despite the flaws in our democracies (American and Indian), we are the most inclusive societies.


The New Yorker reports this great news: "The next Supreme Court confirmation hearing begins on Wednesday afternoon, April 10th. Technically, Sri Srinivasan is just a candidate for the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but few are misled. The stakes in this nomination are clear: if Srinivasan passes this test and wins confirmation, he’ll be on the Supreme Court before President Obama’s term ends."

We have a lot more work to do in India and the United States to truly make it a society, where every individual is honored for his or her contributions to the nation building without regards to his or her religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and nationality.

We do have bigots in both nations and we need to continue to have a dialogue with them to treat every American (USA) or Indian (India) as an individual to be treated with full dignity without prejudice.

When a Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Dalit, Muslim and Hindu achieves success, and if each one of us can celebrate that success by draining sewerage out of our hearts that he is a Christian, Muslim or Sikh... then we have achieved Moksha, Mukti and freedom, and congratulations to all those who have achieved that, and those who have not, please do not miss out that opportunity in your life time.

America is God's own Country

America is God’s own country | AmericansTogether.org


Indeed, America is God’s own country!  It is a representation of everything God has created on this planet from sea to the shining sea.

We are one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We are represented by every race, nationality, ethnicity, language, culture and religion. 

We are blessed with every possible faith that you can imagine on the earth, there is no other nation with this many faith representations as we are.

Together as Americans we believe in one God, no God and many God representations;  we believe him to be male, female and genderless; we believe it to be a being, non being and everything;  nameless and innumerable names.
We have green pastures, rivers, mountains, deserts, snow, rainfall, storms; we have cold to hot climates.

We have families who opt to live a simple life with no modern amenities and we families who live in lap of the luxury that is unmatched anywhere.

We believe in our immortal declaration of independence, “
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed;”

Indeed, America is God's own country, a miniature universe represented by all of God's intentional diverse creation.We have the freedom to be who we want to be and achieve whatever we want to be.

Texas Faith: The poor will always be with you, but shouldn’t they get a raise?

Every religion is invoking responsible capitalism:  “Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you (New Testament).” You shall pay them their wages daily before sunset, because they are poor and their livelihood depends on them (Old Testament); “Give to the worker his wages before his sweat dries (Quran).” The other religions offer the same wisdom.
Let the worker “live his life,” take care of his family, be healthy and come back to work the next day motivated to work and be more productive. Investing in the health, prosperity of the worker ensures success of the business. You take care of him as he takes care of y0ur growth and both will prosper.

Wal-Mart, long known for its low wages, is giving employees pay raises.
Wal-Mart, a company not known for its generosity, made headlines recently with its decision to give half a million employees pay raises above the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. The company said all of its U.S.workers would earn at least $9 an hour by April and at least $10 by next February.
Even these planned raises fall short of what labor experts consider a “living wage.” Christine Owens, executive director of the National Employment Law Project, told The New York Times that the persistence of workers and supporters was what brought the higher pay.
Still, Owens said the changes aren’t good enough. “When compared to the $16 billion in profit that the company rakes in annually, Wal-Mart’s promise of $10 an hour — which even for a full-time worker is not enough to keep a family of four out of poverty — is meager,” she told The Times.
Prices and wages in our capitalist society are generally determined by market forces: You charge what shoppers will pay, and you pay what workers will accept. Many people of faith are concerned with the financial struggle of the lower middle class and have been pushing for higher pay for these workers.
The Bible and the Quran talk about paying wages promptly (before sundown in the Bible, before a “worker’s sweat has dried” in the Quran). There are also verses about usury and the laborer deserving his wages. But there aren’t many specifics about how much workers should be paid, of course.
Here’s a sampling of verses: 
New Testament James 5:4 (New International Version)
Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.”
From the Quran:
“Give to the worker his wages before his sweat dries.”
 Old Testament: 
You shall not withhold the wages of poor and needy laborers, whether other Israelites or aliens who reside in your land in one of your towns. You shall pay them their wages daily before sunset, because they are poor and their livelihood depends on them; otherwise they might cry to the Lord against you, and you would incur guilt.”
Deuteronomy 24:14-5
 Here’s a question in which our religious faith could collide with our belief in the capitalist system: Do you think employers are under any obligation to pay more than the minimum wage to ensure that employees have enough money to stay off welfare? Or is it good enough to pay the minimum required by law?

How much a worker should be paid is a function of the market forces, responsible capitalism to keep us within the moral bounds of the society, and growth wages for a sustainable economy. The emphasis is on responsibility and growth.
It is critical to understand that our economy is driven by our wants rather than our needs. If we strictly go by the needs, no one needs a new computer, a new i6 or Samsung, or new clothes and new suits, endless variety of makeup, and designer hand bags, nor do we need to employ people, as we can do it ourselves; raise our own cows, chicken, wheat, veggies, fruits and cotton.
Way back in 1983, I was a vice president of a fire protection company, and one day, the IBM folks descended on us trying to sell us computers. We did not need then —  we managed everything the old-fashioned way, making accounting entries by hand.  Thanks for the blue suits for being persistent, finally we wanted them and had them and grew the business with efficiency, accuracy and timely data.
Morality is a product of different people working, playing, marrying, eating and schooling together.  Of course, religious wisdom is a major contributor to the morals of the society.
When the holy books advise; “Look! Indeed, all of them are invoking responsible capitalism: Let the worker “live his life,” take care of his family, be healthy and come back to work the next day motivated to work and be more productive. Investing in the health, prosperity of the worker ensures success of the business. You take care of him as he takes care of y0ur growth and both will prosper.
Our economy would not have grown; we would not have enjoyed the quality of life on our own without the labor that produces it and capital that risks producing.
If we still had a $2.25 minimum wage, the employees could not afford to rent an apartment and be healthy, and that would have cut off the growing of apartment buildings and the jobs they create, the convenience stores would have not sprung up, new and better ways of living would not have happened. Every business you see, every luxury you have and every convenience you enjoy is a direct result of increased wages that stimulate the economy.
Religion has offered sound advice. You pay the wages for the worker to live a life that will add growth, and not merely get by. Wal-Mart will grow further if it raises its minimum wages to $10. It will not eat into its profit, but add more revenues paid through the incremental increase in price, a driving engine of growth.

Is Sean Hannity a rapist and a Murderer?

If you have a right wing mindset, you will not read beyond this headline and jump to the conclusions and get angry.  The purpose of choosing this title is twofold; to make a point against stereo typing and president’s wise choice to not use the phrase Radical Islam.



If I say “New Yorkers are rapists and murderers” and by living in New York Sean Hannity and Mayor Bill de Blasio automatically earn the title of rapists and murderers.

This is how it works:
According to FBI - New York City’s (just the city) Crime Statistics reveal forcible rapes at the rates of 14/ 100,000 and murder rate of 4/100,000. That translates into 419 Murders and 1162 Murders in 2014. Using these rates, it makes a stronger case to call New Yorkers rapists and murders. What would you say to your niece if she asks your recommendation to live in New York or Dallas? 

I was on Hannity show last night, and did not get to say this; by using the blanket phrase radical Muslims or radical Islam, he is calling me one. I am his friend, and I am no different than the 1.7 billion minus .001% of us who are radicals. By the way, for every Muslim ass, there is a Christian, Jewish, Hindu and a Buddhist ass and that .001% applies to all groups.

I hope you got angry at me for the statistics, and you should, and you should expect me to react to “Radical Islam and Radical Muslims” in the same way. Both are dumb and stupid statements. Neither New Yorkers are murders and nor Muslims are radicals, the correct statement would have been; Murderers in New York and Terrorists among Muslims, which would have excluded Hannity and me from the blanket statement.

Sean Hannity is a great American patriot and his consistent attacks on the government keep them on their toes and I admire him for that. Two years ago in February 2013, Sean Hannity said in a retreat at the Fox Studios, that I am the only Muslim he knows that he can dialogue with, and he called me a friend and I call him a friend, in return he offered the best gift of my life – he said, he will not use the phrases Radical Islam and Radical Muslims, instead he will use the words Radicals among Muslims and in Islam. I saluted him, and his influence did not end there.

Congressman Peter King on April 15, 2013, said this to CNN camera right after the Boston bombing, “ I have no problem with 96% of the Muslims and it is the 4% I worry” – if you recall, it was the same congressman who wanted to investigate every mosque and tap out every Muslim. Hannity does not have a choice either when the terrorists call themselves Islamic State, which they are not. 

Listen to Hannity carefully, he is not against Islam or Muslims, but against the radicals among us, which all of us Muslims (minus radicals) are against but don’t speak up in strong terms on a national or international microphone. 

President Obama is absolutely right by not using the phrase Radical Islam or Radical Muslims that would be the stupidest thing to say.
Hannity broke his promise with me last night and I understand his outrage. It took me several minutes and several laps of pacing the lobby of my office to calm down after seeing that disgusting video.  Every second counts on his top rated show, and by nature I am slow in responding and did not complete the sentence and it was a packed show with so many guests, and the time allotted to me and Allen West was drastically cut. The sentence was,  “Sean, if you call them Radical Muslims, you are including me in that group, and that is not kosher, because I am your friend, please  call them Radicals among Muslims” and I am fine with that, because I and the 99.99% of Muslims are against them. It is our responsibility to stop them. The Quran recommends severe punishment to the oppressors and suggests hunting them down where ever they can be found and punishing them accordingly, unless they sincerely repent and back off, and if they do back off and surrender, they go to Guantanamo for a full orderly trial that US law permits. If those specific individuals don't surrender, drone them! Go ahead, degrade and destroy them.
I urge President Obama to take the action; the world will never be more with him than now, in one sweep, go clean those radicals. We need to rid of them, in the most civil way we can. We should never lose our civility in dealings with these men, and should not produce excuses in making innocent civilians a collateral damage, a shameful word in history of civilizations. Just go get them, as you did Osama Bin Laden. 

If the show had more time, I wanted to say the harshest of the truths we keep denying.  We are guilty of causing nearly half a million deaths, it was indeed terrorizing the innocent people of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the facts did not matter to our President in 2003.  We owe an apology to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, none of this would have happened, had we not gone into Iraq based on falsities.


President Obama has this last chance to save humanity by eliminating the barbarians.  They are beyond dialogue, but we should still give them a warning to back off, repent and surrender or face the drones, we need to wipe them out with all the might we have.

Defending freedom of speech on Hannity Show; Mike Ghouse with Pamela Geller about Tunisian scholar Sheikh Rachid al-Ghannouchi.


My strongest argument with Hannity and Geller was – I do not want America to change for Ghannouchi, I do not want our constitution be compromised for Ghannouchi, and I do not want American character to change for Ghannouchi.

I was completely taken back that Pamela Geller and Hannity were calling for a ban on Sheikh Rachid al-Ghannouchi’s featured speech at Yale Law School, they should be instead defending it.






Freedom of speech is the most enduring, stabilizing, sustainable value of a free society.  Ultimately freedom should prevail over everything else. That is about the only thing I would die for and defend.

Ghannouchi has called for destruction of American properties and killing Americans, I don’t like it, but I will defend his right to speak.

I have defended Pamela Geller’s right to speak in London when they banned her from speaking, I have defended Terry Jones right to burn Qurans, and indeed we are making a film about freedom of speech.  I have defended Fred Phelps right to be ugly with this anti-Jewish, anti-GLBT and anti-Immigrant demonstrations. 
I have opposed Arab League's proposal at the United Nations to curb freedom of speech about religious personalities, and without any doubt Professor Ghannouchi should speak freely.

Freedom should be the ultimate winner. Indeed it is to our advantage to hear him out, understand where he is coming from and what he is going to lay it out. We should hear him and not ban him.

We cannot be hypocrites, and ban free speech for one and allow it for others.

My strongest argument with Hannity and Geller was – I do not want America to change because of Ghannouchi, I do not want our constitution be compromised for Ghannouchi, and I do not want our character to change for Ghannouchi.

Quran supports freedom of speech, there are numerous verses to that effect, but for now, I will quote two – 41:34 – Repel evil with whatever is better; there is chance that evil may mellow down, if you repel evil with evil, the conflict flares up and both sides will dig in their heels.  Verse 2:256 gives clear unambiguous guidance – there shall be no compulsion for others to believe what you believe.

Freedom of speech is birth right, that is one simple thing that separated animals from humans and I will not let it be compromised. 


I am surprised with the attacks on Twitter and floods of emails I am receiving from the right wing Christians, Muslims and Jews. Freedom of speech is an expectational America value, indeed, that is what separates us from the rest of the world. I would have expected them to defend it instead of attacking me.


Freedom of speech is a conservative value and I expected Sean Hannity to defend it, but he failed me.
