Federal debt, passing the buck to next generation.

Dallas Morning News poses a question every week about the issues facing the nation and as a part of the Texas Faith Panel; I have been writing my columns addressing the issues along with at least ten panelists on a regular basis. Here is this week’s question that I have addressed below.

What should America do to keep the federal debt from limiting the future of younger Americans?

We are a nation of ethics and morality and have to set our priorities as to what goes on the chopping block.  We can apply the brakes on federal spending and loosen the revenue stream to reduce the federal debt from being passed on to the younger Americans.

Deficit spending (debt) is an insurance to uplift ourselves from the economic doldrums; it has to balance it out with future surpluses to even out over a long economic cycle.  We have to pump money out of thin air to shake out of the crises. That is how we gave life to our economy and got out of the great depression.

I support the call from religious leaders that “The Biblical call to stewardship demands that we pass on an economic order in which our children and their children can flourish.   Indeed, the Native Americans consider impact of their actions for seven generations and that wisdom is embedded in every religion with no exception.

Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) described a good deed as an act which benefits others, such as planting a tree that serves future generations of wayfarers with fruit and the shade.  He said, the world is a better place today because of a good legacy bequeathed to humanity by people of all faiths that came before us. We owe it to coming generations to leave the world a little better than we found it, to usher an era of justice and sustainable peace and prosperity.
We cannot sacrifice our long term interests (well being) of our society with short term needs; we cannot cut support systems to the needy.

Morality demands that we make sacrifices, it starts with the ones who don’t live hand to mouth. Let the President, Administration, Senate, Congress and the federal employees take a voluntary pay cut for a few determined years until we find on the path of recovery.  We don’t need a precedent, we set the precedent.

We must levy excise duty on luxury imports for a period of four years. It will increase the demand for domestic manufacturing and in turn create employment and taxable earnings. The actual taxes received must be earmarked for debt reduction.

We must cut the foreign aid by half; we need to take care of our needs first instead of funding non-essential needs of others.

Lastly reign in our itch to go for wars and intervene injudiciously, indeed it was the war that got us into trouble.

Ross Perot had a great idea to restore dignity of the people by including every one in the nation building. Let the unemployment and welfare checks be earned through community service work, bring our troops back home and ask them to work on infrastructure projects.

John Kennedy’s words make a lot of sense in this context. Let every American take pride in becoming a participant in doing things for our country, instead of asking our country do things for us.

Egypt: Freedom at last

The beautiful journey of the Egyptian People and their Celebrations - Pictures:
It's one of the most beautiful days of my life; seeing a people get their freedom though non-violence and peaceful means. Prophet Muhammad, Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King and folks like them must be smiling with approval.
TV CLIPS
CBS 11 - http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2011/02/11/egyptian-celebrations-planned-in-downtown-dallas-frisco/

Some of the joy-teary moments that I can recall are - release of Mandela, fall of the Berlin wall, Obama's election night, Aung San Su Kyii’s release and Freedom at last for the Egyptian people. I have written extensively on the last two events.
As an American I am proud of my President for telling the people that they have a friend in America, and that was the right thing to say; to support the people, and that is what democracy is all about.

I wanted to be with the Egyptian people in their joy. This is also a historic moment in the Muslim Arab World – breaking the cycle of violence and achieving the goals through peaceful means.  I have written a lot about it and will share the links below including my advice to President Obama.

I sincerely wish the Jewish people join the Egyptians, and they will earn tremendous good will, I wish the few hawks understand emotions and feeling of people rather than itch for chaos and scheme to jeopardize things. I like to see an uprising of the Jewish people to have their government represent the Jewish Values. It will happen and the Jewish people are tired of the right wingers among them, just as Muslims, Christians and Hindus are tired of their right wingers, who spend time dismantling rather than building. I invite them to join the peace movements and their support will take the battles out of the world.

I was on three Radio Stations today; the KBOO 90.7 FM in Portland and Sean Hannity Fox Radio and have no idea who they were, they called and I talked.

A friend called and said the Egyptians are celebrating at Fadi's Mediterranean Restaurant in Frisco; I drove right to it, talked with Abdulla the organizer a young fellow in his mid twenties.

I was the only visible non- Egyptian look like in the Restaurant, all the TV cameras honed on me – Local Affiliates of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Telemundo… first interview was 4 microphones shoved in my face, then three more individual in each corner of the restaurant. There were more important things for them to report than my take, as they talked with a few Egptian women and I hope they show them, they had great things to say. Richard from Fox had done a few interviews of me in the past including the coverage of the Holocaust and Genocides event a few years back.

Invariably the asked why I was out there? Was I an Egyptian? The answer is simple I share their sentiments of jubilation and freedom, and the whole world is one family and certainly I feel that. I walked with nearly 5000 Mexicans and spoke to them at the rally down town, was in the rally in support of Gazans and stood up with Jews and GLBT against the hateful demonstration by Fred Phelps across the Holocaust Museum and the Synagogues. That is my sentiment, feeling part of the universal energy that we are all part of.

Any way, I have written way too much in the last week  and thank God, people won, Mubarak left, no blood shed took place and those whose life’s was a sacrifice in the process will be happy to know that their sacrifice was for the right purpose; freedom of the people.

I am glad to be a part of it.

Mike Ghouse doing my share of building cohesive societies

Congratulations to Egyptian People

May the aspirations of Egyptians for self governance come true, Amen! Thank God, Mubarak listened to the people and hopefully retains some dignity. It is good for him and good for Egyptians and it will be good for Israel and the region.

Israel need not worry, it is a people to people relationship and not between Netanyahu and Mubarak to die off. The right wingers in Israel need to re-think their overtures and focus on building bridges, their fears are legitimate but they need to shape the future through participation and not wishing and scheming.

United States should always side with the people, if not we will lose them all. We talk democracy and time to act democracy.  I know Obama will do the right thing and I have a five step advice for him.

Americans together was formed on 2010 Christmas day, honoring Jesus the Pluralist to build cohesive societies.

My appearance on Fox, talk on two Radio stations and write up in Dallas Morning News and several places:

Israeli blunders

http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/02/israeli-blunders.html
What’s wrong with the Israeli politicians? Do they get it?

The Israeli leaders are jeopardizing the peace prospects, they are either dumb or they want to find an excuse to go to war again, like our right wingers in America, they are itching for wars and chaos. If they bring peace, they are not needed any more.

Pressuring the US to let Mubarak stay is down right stupid, it will antagonize the Egyptian Public that has not been anti-Israel so far. They should either shut up or welcome the people movement. The peace pact is between the people of Egypt and the people of Israel and not between Netanyahu and Mubarak, these dudes will be gone, but public policy sustains.

It is time for Israeli public to speak up, it is their future and their safety that is being put in harms way.

The right thing for Israel in the long haul is to nurture goodwill and support the people's movement rather than alienating them. http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/02/obama-throws-me-off-compeletely.html

Obama throws me off compeletely

Advise to Obama on Egypt.

http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2011/02/obama-throws-me-off-compeletely.html

What throws me off completely is that every time I write about Obama, within a week he uses similar words in his speech. It's happened time and again. I feel certain that he will speak similar words within a day or two, I just want to register with you before it happens. The article is pasted below.

Ever since I read Obama's speech to the Illinois senate, I have followed him and have written over a dozen articles about him, despite being a Republican, I have voted for him and held two rallies in Carrollton in support of him. He is the right man to bring cohesiveness to America and influence the world with the ideas of inclusivism.

Oddly, unasked, I was considered for two positions with his admin, the last one was special envoy to the OIC. I was told that the state department and particularly Hilary Clinton reads my write ups, whether she does or not, I am thrilled to share the same with you.

This will appear in Dallas Morning News today;

The President must remain focused on aspirations of the people and facilitate a sustainable change with grace and dignity, rather than leaning on individuals.
We must not forget that the basis of our relationship is between “the People of the United States,” and “the people of Egypt,” and not between Mubarak and Obama.

I would advise the President to have a five fold agenda to develop a sustainable outcome.

President Obama must boldly support the aspirations of the Egyptian people and laud them for breaking the cycle of violence.  We must admire them for giving life to one of the most civilized forms of a political change; non-violence. It is a new experience for the Arab world and due encouragement will pave the way for others with similar aspirations.

To Mubarak, he could say, “Mr. President you have dutifully served the interests of your people by relinquishing them from wars, anxiety and disruption of their lives through the peace accord with Israel, and now I urge you to honor the wishes of people and earn their respect and live a dignified life as a proud civilian, it is good for you and your people in every imaginable way.”
The legitimate fears of Israel are to be addressed. While assuring our support, we need to ask them to trust the Egyptians and support their aspirations for self determination.

The less we alienate the people the better off we would be, and it would be wise to give room to the Brotherhood to re-align themselves with new realities of the region instead of pushing them to dig in their heels, a Hamas mistake we must not repeat.

The security of region hinges on partnerships rather than aggravations, whether it is the Israelis or the Egyptians, people in distress remember and stick with those who will stand by them.

President Obama is blessed with this Golden opportunity to become a catalyst in shaping the world of democracy particularly in the Arab world. He should not miss a beat in nurturing our relationship with the people; it gives permanency to our policy.

He must reward them for becoming the pioneers of change and offer them a forum to map out their future.

President Obama’s Speech at Tucson Memorial

Listening to him is coming home to me, its being at peace and being a part of the energy that surrounds one. The goodness in him brings tenderness to the heart.  He is all about an inclusive America, an America that is good for every one of the 301 Million Americans. His speeches are inclusive and you can his stamp in everything he does. He praised Republicans in his speech and talks about Phyllis Schnae the gifted quilter who put both jets and Giants on the quilt, a republican came to see democratic Congresswoman Gabby's speech.  I had gotten away from TV for over two years except watching the clips and Super Bowl, but last night I watched the 34 minutes video with joy.

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO, YOU MAY FEEL AT HOME AS WELL, MEANING AT PEACE:

Had we not gone to war in Iraq and Afghanistan and blew billions in destruction, we would not have faced budget deficits, unemployment and the difficulties we are facing today. Obama would have had an opportunity to restore America’s dignity around the world and become a catalyst to unite Americans. He has a difficult task and uphill battle.

I am still a Republican, a moderate one for that matter and have not changed the parties, and I sincerely wish to see at least a few among the Republican leadership to talk about peace, free themselves from hate for others and take Benadryl to stop itching for war and destruction.

I have written over a dozen articles and I find myself in tune with Obama, and there was a time, I was monitoring his speeches, and invariably I write and a week later Obama was using similar thoughts and words in his speeches. http://mikeghouseforamerica.blogspot.com/  and even wrote in advance that he will use similar words and he did.

You can watch my new site www.AmericaTogetherFoundation.com and you will see similar words of inclusion and cohesiveness, I need to listen to him more often.

Last night I watched this video… darn it some of the words on the 17th minutes and 18th minutes were exact identical in my speech some ten years ago, five years ago and in my press release at www.unitydayusa.com

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO, YOU MAY FEEL AT HOME AS WELL, MEANING AT PEACE:

17th Minute- sense out of chaos
18th Minute- talking that heals
23rd Minute- what small part we have played in making other peoples life better
24th Minute - part of our family, American family 300 Million
28th Minute the civil discourse
28th Minute- question each others ideas without questioning the their love for the country
29th Minute- how we treat each other is all about civility
31st Minute- unadulterated by hate
31st Minute- America to be as good as she imagined children’s expectations

Can Religion-based Terrorism be eliminated?

My response to the article posted by Hasni Essa.
Hasni,

The author has made some compelling arguments; he almost had a touch down but missed it and he has gotten wrong at places.

“The guiding principle remains the improvement of the lot of perceived oppressed people.” Then he adds, “What about outfits like the Talibans and others. They are also criminals but carries common tags as terrorists – driven purely by religious fundamentalism.”

I am going to miss the field goal, the solution is somewhere there, and can’t pin point precisely.  Religion is really a cover for the wrongs men do, and it is wronger for us to give them a sanction of religious cover. No religion teaches one to murder, rob, steal, lie, rape or to be unjust, yet we thoughtlessly blame Religions of the same.

Human insecurities produce arrogance to falsely give a sense of security. Religion was anti-dote to such disorders, indeed religions came into being to allay such fears and imbue humility into the society – to bring about a social order and balance where every one can feel safe and live without the fear of other.

There is a beautiful statement in Bhagvad Gita and Quraan some thing to this effect;   Krishna say, whenever a society loses its social order (Adharma) I will emerge in that chaos and bring the righteousness (dharma) back. Quraan adds, to every community and every nation God has sent a peace maker, messenger or a prophet to restore the order in that society.

Religion is a balancing mechanism in society, it is lack of religion, lack of values that create chaos and swings the pendulum to the other end and it takes several swings to bring balance.  It is lack of check on greed that causes the Somnath destruction; it is the hopelessness in society that gives a sense of power to the Qadris to kill Taseers. As a society the pendulum in Pakistan is wildly swinging and it will take time to bring a balance. It is lack of religion, and oddly in the guise of religion that has created that drama in Pakistan.  The author has missed that point in the end zone.

The unstated purpose of religion is bringing a balance to an individual and what surround him; life and matter.

He completely missed the point about religion, and most people including Muslims make that mistake “The Talibans are akin to Wahhabists of Saudi Arabia – followers of purest form of Islam -- not allowing any deviation from the principles of Koran, they claim.

It is such a fallacious statement; “Purest form of Islam” is used negatively in his statement, it is indeed good, it is about free will and justice and equity to every human being.  It will bring mercy to mankind and peace to every human.  The author and many a Muslims also give sanction to such a fallacy. The Wahhabis and Talibans are not the followers of purest form of Islam.

Terrorists do not have a religion, if they did, they would not be violating the guidance religion offers. It is for them religion came into being and they are far from it.

It is a good article, loaded with random thoughts incoherently sewn together.

Mike,
Read this. Isn't it true everything what the author writes and says.

Would you scratch your head in search of an "elusive clue to the emerging peril", as the author says. Where would you place yourself, and try to bring communal peace and harmony among people of every religion which seem to breed " religious Fundamentalists." Even though they are minority, they sure raise hell and scare peace loving people of all religions.

Someone has said: The best religion is the most tolerant. And religion without humanity is a poor human stuff.

We find none of these anywhere in any religion among any of these religious fundamentalists.
So help them their God.

Can Religion-based Terrorism be eliminated?

Nalinaksha Mutsuddi
I’m in a good fix now. It’s 9 degrees Celsius inside my room at 10 am. I can’t do anything except worrying about the weather and the world. Worrying has become a good pastime for me. And that is what I’m doing now.

The media – print or electronic – is a good supplier of fresh ingredients for worry -- of course, if you intend to adopt it as your pastime --kidnapping, murder, violence, arson, destruction, scam -- everyday, everywhere – in our country and in their country -- all over the world. There are fatal accidents due to so many factors: avoidable as well as unavoidable and daily doses of petty thefts and burglaries in the neighbourhood. Killings too are committed out of rivalry, property disputes, greed or sheer jealousy -- all major or minor cases of social miscreants -- not committed by regular offenders. And there are professional criminals like Abu Salem & Co. -- should we bracket them as terrorists? Probably no, they are gangsters,   different from Naxals, Maoists and the Talibans. Naxals and Maoists also are terrorists: though they should better be designated as insurgents as they are motivated by political ideology to overthrow a constituted government by subversion and armed conflict.  They believe the government is not looking after the interest of the downtrodden majority. They may believe in any specific religion at personal level, but their terrorist activity is not driven by religion. LTTE also falls in this category, propelled by the idea of political marginalization due to ethnic minority, in Srilanka. Their sole goal remains the betterment of the exploited class and that is their religion. That is their professed intention. Of course, for some, there may be other ulterior motifs – joining any terrorist group may just be a camouflage. Overall, for the rest – hardcore dedicated ideologues -- the guiding principle remains the improvement of the lot of perceived oppressed people.

What about outfits like the Talibans and others. They are also criminals but carries common tags as terrorists – driven purely by religious fundamentalism. The Talibans are akin to Wahhabists of Saudi Arabia – followers of purest form of Islam -- not allowing any deviation from the principles of Koran, they claim. Al-Qaeda, JeM, LeT et al can be bracketed in this class. Activities of Al-Qaeda – a brainchild of Osama Bi Laden – operate internationally. Though, they target all Non-Muslim states of the world, their avowed enemy is the U.S.A. – identified as the main enemy of Islam --  attacking Muslim countries like  Iraq and Afghanistan and hampering world wide promotion of Islam.

There is a growing hostility among Hindus – though limited to miniscule number -- in India, against seeming ascendance of Islam in the country. A simmering grievance nourished since the time of vandalizing of Somnath and other temples to avenge the past act of aggression and destruction is raising its ugly head now. There are many stories of yester-year demolition of Hindu temples around the country. At the time of actual happening it was not possible to resist or prevent the attack due to inherent weakness among Hindus. Now is the ripe time to avenge the old misdeeds of Muslim invasion.  Mecca Masjid bombing, Malegaon blasts, Gujarat massacre and Ajmer blast et al are examples of this.

A similar hatred is brewing among certain sections of Hindus prejudicial to Christians. There is a craze for English education even after the British left the country. Convent schools were never the preserve of the poor. They can’t afford it, despite their hidden wish to have it. They see wrong in the inroad making by Christianity among the Tribal people. During British period they could do sweet nothing. Now they are active in wrecking Churches and ruining Christian-run schools, thereby curtailing the growing influence of Christianity. They are up in reconverting the tribals back to Hindu fold.

With the spread of education and improved communication facility it portends to intensify gradually into the future. To limit or eliminate it altogether will be well nigh impossible. To confine it to a reasonable range cultivation of religious tolerance is paramount. Without going to its religious root it will remain intractable. All avenues of curtailing the radical elements in each religious group must be explored on a continual basis.

The kind of terrorism, we face everyday, is completely based on religion. To say terrorists have no religion serves no purpose. They are distinctly Hindu or Islamic or self-styled representatives of any other religious group. They all draw inspiration and sustenance from religion. In Srilanka, the pacifist monks advocated resorting to terrorism to counter the LTTEs. In Vietnam, many Buddhist monks took refuge to self-immolation in protest against American invasion. There is no ISO 9000 for any religion. It is not possible either to decide who is following true religion and who is not. Nobody has any monopoly over any brand of faith. Interpretation varies from man to man and as a result differences arise leading to violent strife. So far, we are confined to inter-religious conflicts.

A new trend of militancy within same religion is growing fast.  This is specially true in case of Islam. The recent assassination of Punjab governor Salman Taseer is a pointer. This occurred in an Islamic country – a devout Muslim killing a liberal one.  What is more portentous is the mass support extended to the killer. Many clerics refuse to undertake funeral service for the victim. Besides common clashes between Sunnis and Shias there are other cases of frequent destruction of Sufi shrines in Pakistan. Can fanaticism and modernity be reconciled within the tenets of Islam will remain a formidable problem for the future. We can denounce Prof. Huntington’s theory of “clashes of civilization” but can we wish away the looming danger of growing clashes ‘within civilization’?

And now – if you like – begin scratching your head in search of an elusive clue to the emerging peril.

Questions about Religion

Here is a quick response to the five questions posed by the Faith Club.

1.  What is the purpose of religion as told by different religions?  Is it to connect man to God?    Or Is it inner peace?
The purpose of religion is to bring inner peace to an individual and create a balance between him (her or it) and what surrounds him; life and matter. God is not an entity or a separate being, it is an energy that permeates in every thing in the universe, we are not separate from God, we are a part of it and by having the inner peace, by being together we are connected with that universal energy that we call God. However, we have the free will to find our own balance; through guidance offered by peace makers with different names like messengers, prophets or God incarnations or on our own.

2.  Today millions of people follow Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) or Eastern religions (Buddhism, Hinduism). Many of them try to follow the rituals properly. Are they really achieving these goals set in their religions?   How can they know for sure?

Rituals are the pathways to achieving everything in life. Even though one may not be fully in tune with the rituals, and may not admit following any rituals, they are a part of our existence. They do offer some solace of performing an assumed duty.  There is nothing in life we don’t do as rituals; from birth, eating food, getting up from bed, to showers, bathrooms, to going to work or going to gym is all about rituals… a systematic way to achieve goals immediate or long term. Even meditation is a ritual to bring solace to oneself.

3.  How can a person know if God is happy with him?

God is happy with me because I am a contributor to the overall balance in the universal energy. As long as I am not affecting other’s space (spiritual, physical), sustenance (food, water) and nurturance (love and caring), I am at peace and that is all God wants – to have his creation live in harmony. Just as a mother wants her children, a Chef wants his customers to enjoy his food, or a Teacher to have her students do well in school, God wants us to be in that peaceful mode and get along with all.

4.  How does God communicate to ordinary people like us?

I have to search for quotes from other traditions, at this moment I can quote Islam and Hinduism; God in the Quraan says that no tribe, community, or a nation is deprived of guidance; he has sent peace makers to every one. Krishna in Bhagvad Gita says, whenever and wherever there is a loss of equilibrium (social disorder aka Adharma) I will emerge from amongst you to restore that Dharma.

Further more, the laws of physics also are comparable to the laws of spirituality. Every piece of matters seeks its own balance, it is built into it, when it goes off the tract it loses its place. Humans have the free will to create that balance through a variety of source; through guidance from their religion (any) or just common sense. Religion is not necessary to have that balance. Morality and conscience are a product of living together with others with our own God given unique nesses; thumbprints, eyes, DNA…etc each one of us is different and each one of us is our own model, there is no exactly alike. Accepting that brings solutions.

5.  How can a person know for sure if he is close to God or if he is far away from Him?

If one is at peace with himself or herself where the anger, hate, malice, ill will are not throwing him/her off, and he or she is together. He is closer to God. Quraan metaphorically says, God is closer to you than your jugular vein – meaning your thoughts and actions are fully in grasp of the larger energy out there that we are part of. God is not a being to me and he does not exist in any form, it is purely an energy and as such he is in everything out there including me and you.

Freedom Gene; America does it.

Despite the binding moral and metaphysical truths espoused by the conservatives as truths to live by, the American gene of freedom has gotten them as much as everyone. One of the values immigrants cherish most is the freedom this land evokes, cajoles and activates in them, there is nothing like it anywhere on Earth. America brings freedom from the clutches of one’s own beliefs.

The following opinion is part of my weekly write up for Texas Faith Forum, at the end of my piece; the Dallas Morning News link presents opinions on the forum. The question was, “Why shouldn’t people of faith worry about maintaining theological continuity and integrity, if indeed religion proclaims binding moral and metaphysical truths that are necessary to live by?”

Freedom Gene, America does it!

People of faith, particularly “conservatives,” continue to worry about maintaining theological continuity and integrity, but they really don’t have a choice and cannot “control” perceived “deviants” by frightening them with excommunication or persecution. America is the land of the free and it does bring freedom to one from the clutches of one’s own beliefs, however religious associations in America are tempered with free choice.

The men and women who came to America in the face of religious persecution in Europe formed their own communities and found the freedom to practice what they believed was their inalienable right. As more diverse communities grew, they developed an acceptance of the other out of a sheer need to co-exist and a desire to reject the idea of persecution they had endured.  Although fanaticism was a part of the growth in persecuting Jews, Catholics, Mormons and Wicca, the idea of co-existence was also growing stronger.

One of the values immigrants cherish most is the freedom this land evokes, cajoles and activates in them, there is nothing like it anywhere on Earth. Immigrants are not what you think to be; Mexicans, Indians, Chinese, Asians, Arabs or Africans but every one of us including you and me.  Indeed the Native Americans have fiercely guarded and demonstrated their freedom as well.

Despite the binding moral and metaphysical truths espoused by the conservatives as truths to live by, the American gene of freedom has gotten them as much as everyone. They are worried about the dilution of their faith, but have gradually moved on from the familiar to unfamiliar, an inch at a time establishing new equilibriums. They have reluctantly accepted pre-marital sexual relations; resisted abortion and have remained silent about men and women living together without the wedding vows,  and now they are battling with the homosexuality issues and one day they will cross that threshold and accept new equilibriums.

The first living and practicing women Rabbis, Pastors or Imams in the Abrahamic traditions particularly, and priests in other traditions in general are here in the United States, an unthinkable thing some fifty years ago. Our sense of morality is continuously enlarging and embracing diversity of thought as the legitimate other.

Freedom of religion is the binding value of America and the American gene of freedom thrives and permeates in every one’s DNA, and we will remain loyal to freedom over dogma.

Richard Dreyfus' War on Terrororism

Richard Dreyfus on War on Terrorism

I just happened to see Richard Dreyfus interview and simply enjoyed listening to him- he has understood that framing the war on Terrorism is downright stupid. I was thrilled to see some one using literally the same words that I wrote on March 27, 2008. By stereotyping terrorism with the use of the world “Islamic Terrorism” we are alienating a bunch of people.

Throw me in the ditch for the crimes I commit, inflict the punishment I deserve, but please do not unleash your fury on my family, my parents, my town or my religion. I should be responsible for my acts, and no one else. This should be a common principle and norm, we should abide by.

This essay explores the mistakes our Administration has made in not facing the terrorist squarely; and instead acting out like cranky babies. The world communities will be with us, with their hearts and minds in fighting the menace of terrorism, if we go after the individuals responsible for the crimes and not their families, their nation or their religion. We will achieve far greater success, if we learn to laser bark at the criminals, instead of barking at the universe.

Remember Dreyfus?
He was silenced by the AIPAC some 20 years ago when he said the right things about going about finding peace in the Middle East.
