My friends are good, bad and Ugly

At times it is difficult for some of my friends to see me with ‘some’ people, and then they judge me by my company.  I am blessed to have friends from every walk of life from left to the right and every one in between, from Atheists to Zoroastrians and every one in between, and from Republicans to Democrats and every one in between.  I have chosen to fall the barriers between me and another human and there is a joy in it and there is peace in it.
MikeGhouse.Arapaho.George
Do I agree with every one? Hell no!  Do I disagree? Hell yes!
But can I get along with every one? Yes!
Some people did not want to invite me to speak or join them in their parties, because they thought I was a right wing guy – just because I am on Fox News and with Hannity, they have never seen the shows and seen what I tell on the show yet judge me by who I am with.
A few did not include me in their circles because they thought I was a Republican, and a few Republicans think I am a Democrat because of my humanitarian take on issues.
Back in Dallas, many a Muslims thought I was a Hindu just because I have been writing about Festivals of the world for nearly 20 years (of all religions), and there are more festivals that Hindus celebrate than any other group of people and I have written about them. In fact the then Hindu Temple President Dr. Phillip Ramsaroop had called me an honorary Hindu.  The funniest moment came in July 1996, when the trustees of the Mosque advised Imam Kavakci, who was my friend, and was on my Radio show,  not to officiate the Nikah with my late wife if I did not convert.
In 2009, I organized a conference for Muslims for peace and Justice, of which, I am still a member along with Edip Yuskel, the modern translator of the Quran. One of the attendees was from Egypt, he made a big deal about meeting with me, he said, he routinely translates my articles into Arabic and posts them in sites in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He uncontainable with his happiness, and finally said something funny – “it is Jewish brothers like you who have understood Islam thoroughly” I looked behind me to see who he was referring to, he said you. Then I said, I am happy to hear that, but I happen to be a Muslim. He looked puzzled, and said, really?
On my Radio show, I did talk about every faith with no exception,  that is 700 hours of talk shows just on understanding each faith. However, the Buddhist and Bahai’s were few and at times did not make it to the studio, so I gave a talk on Buddhism and Baha’i, as I know enough about them to teach.  Many of my late wife’s friends thought I was a Buddhist, indeed, they had congratulated her for converting me to Islam.
A majority of Christians thought I was a Baha’i as I talk like a Baha’i and act like a Baha’i.
In one of the commemorations where a Jewish school was destroyed in Bombay, India – the India Association held the vigil on a Saturday was against my suggestion, and I could not get any Jewish friend to attend for the interfaith prayers, but they asked me to go ahead and recite the prayers I had recited a few years ago. When my turn came,  I read the Jewish prayer…  the gossip started immediately, “See, I told you, he is a Jew”.
I have attended Gay and Lesbian Marches, dinners and fund raisers, and in one of the events at Love Field in Dallas; perhaps I was one of the few straight guys there.  I saw an Indian, hiding and running away from me as if I am going to announce his identity to other Indians.   I walked up to him to his discomfort, and he asked me if I was a gay, I said no, but I am here for my friends and I have no desire to tell any one about it, it is not my business. If he is gay, he is gay, so what? I left him pondering about his need to live his life openly.
I am truly blessed to have friends from most walks of life and when I meet people, I do not look to them with stereotyped lenses, they are individuals like me. But when I learn about them as individuals, either I will continue or cool off with them, if there is no way to carry a dialogue or if they are cast in stone.
Fortunately, with a few exceptions, no one has kept me away because I am a Muslim and no one’s religion or practice has been a barrier to me.  I respect the otherness of others and accept the God given uniqueness of each one of us.  I am comfortable with every group of people and I am at home wherever I am.  Is this difficult? No, it is rather easy – all you have to do is remove all prejudices you may have towards others based on the group, based on bad experience, you can ignore the individual.  One of the greatest lessons of my life is – Jesus’ wisdom; don’t condemn the sinner, condemn his sin and that is the basis of my ease with every human being.
brigite Gabriel-MikeGhouse
I am friends with and get along with every one. There is not a soul I would not reach out to, particularly those who appear to be polarized. This picture is with Brigitte Gabrielle,  I disagree with her take, but have no problem being with her, Pamela Geller, Peter King and the whole list of them. I have met them all. They are like me and you, and go by the information they have received, which is incomplete. I will do my best to communicate to them what I know. If they get it fine, and if they don’t, I need to let that go.
Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is one of my 10 mentors* and once he was frustrated that people were not getting his message and calls on God to seek his advice. God tells him to do his duty to teach the righteousness, and it is up to the people to accept it or not, and he may choose to guide them, but don’t look for instant results. Indeed, that is what Krishna tells Arjuna, do the dharma and let the lord decide upon the fruit.  That is very comforting to me and I do my dharma.
I believe, every one acts and talks based on the information he or she has, most of us are knowledge deficient about others and become judgmental about them. We all have to take the time to question our biases and prejudices about others, and when we free ourselves from it, we would be truly free. This is precisely what Prophet Muhammad meant when he called for Jihad, which a few among Muslims have erroneously understood to wage a war against others.  We have to reign in our temptations to have ill-will, hatred, bias and malice towards others; it will bring serene sustainable happiness to us.
May you be blessed and don’t judge others without knowing them personally, there is a lot of good in it for you.  Amen!
My relations with each people from Atheist to Zoroastrians is marked by great experiences and one of these days, I will update this with all the experiences being with people of different faiths, races and regions.
So, please don’t judge me if you see me with scum (to others)  of the earth or a great human like Pope Frances, I remain me.
* My peace maker mentors are: Muhammad, Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, Pope Frances, Barack Obama, My parents and probably Muhammad Ali (still learning about them) and Abraham Joshua Heschell.  They are all pluralists.

Pat Robertson’s nasty comment and Muslim Speaker’s response

Mr. Robertson, more than the Muslims, Jesus would be disappointed in you severely. The role of religious leaders is to mitigate conflicts and nurture goodwill, and he called out “Blessed are the Peacemakers.” Leaders invoke civility in the society, so members of the society can live in peace and without apprehension and I urge you to be at least a peace maker, if not the blessed one.
I urge Muslims to follow the Prophet’s formula of mitigating conflicts and nurturing goodwill and not be offended with Mr. Robertson’s comments. Prophet was a mercy to mankind, and it is time for us to collectively follow him and be kind and gentler towards any one who is nasty towards us.
Mr. Roberston, what did you do this morning?
You pit Christian Americans against Muslim Americans? Do you cherish Americans living in tensions? Do you get paid for that, do the dumb and dumber ones donate more money to you? Shame on them to encourage you to be a rascal. If you need money badly to do good things, we can pitch in for you, but don’t invoke the baseness in fellow humans. Please don’t be an embarrassment to Christianity, the man who sacrificed his life should not be misrepresented. I pray for you to become a blessed peace maker and join me in created a safe and secure America for every one of us.
Mr. Robertson, Religion is not the problem!
None of us had a religion before, and each one of us was given guidance to live in peace and harmony with oneself and with others. A majority of the people got that message of religions right, and a few creeps did not, and it is our role to help every one restore peace. Is it not?
But when bad things happen, who do you blame, religion or the creeps?
Let me show you what happens.
When we blame the creeps, what happens? We will hunt them down wherever we can find them, and punish them according to the laws of the land and restore trust in the society, so no one can live in apprehension or tensions. What a relief it is to stop the bad guy!
If you blame the religion on the other hand, what happens? Nothing happens! It is the dumbest thing to blame the religion, is it not?
Religion is not a being, not a thing, not a body, for Christ’s sake, it is an intangible item. You cannot shoot, kick, beat, thrash, hang, kill or bury it. It does not do any good and no problem will be solved except aimless barking.
Problem remains, people will continue to remain apprehensive and fearful of each other. Let’s find solutions to these problems instead of barking at religion.
I have said this on Stuart Varney show, Hannity Show, and given many speeches on the topic and have written it umpteen times. It is down right stupid to blame religion. God willing, I will get on Fox and Friends or any show and start talking about it.
God willing a full article will be written on the topic.
“Today on “The 700 Club,” Pat Robertson said that countries like Belgium and France must respond with “violence” to the “infection” of Muslim immigrants, telling his co-host Terry Meeuwsen that these countries must fight Islam in the same way that a body fights a deadly disease.” Otherwise, “Europe is doomed. Doomed!” he said, before adding: “And we have a president here in America who refuses to name it, refuses to identify it and refuses to give us what’s needed to kill the infection.”

Stuart Varney Show and Mike Ghouse at Fox News today 3.24.16 about Matthew Doyle in United Kingdom

Ghouse on Stuart Varney Show at Fox News today 3.24.16
Matthew P Doyle should be released

March 24, 2106 – Just came out of Fox News Studios doing an interview with Stuart Varney.  We talked about free speech instead of the talking points.

God would not have given us the ability to talk or dialogue, if he did not want us to have that freedom. Whether we are British, American, Chinese, Mexicans, Arabs or Indians, free speech is our inalienable right. Free speech should never be compromised, and free assembly should never be compromised either. However, hate speech that creates a safety issue to the society must be contained; it is the responsibility of the society to maintain law and order.
Matthew Doyle should be released explaining to him this story at www.TheGhousediary.com
Matthew Doyle was wrong, he got away because she was a woman,  if that woman was a man he would have punched the guy in his face, and a fight would have broken out… creating Chaos. If he and she had more people around the police would have a major problem on their hands. Hurray to the British Police, now that they have made a point that leads people to think about it, he must be released.

It is our duty to keep law and order and faithfully guard the safety of every citizen. Hate is one of the many sources of disrupting the peace in a society and it is our duty to track down the source of such hate and work on mitigating it. We have an obligation to maintain a balance in the society.
Stuart asked me if he can call me a moderate Muslim, yes, absolutely. Then he asked me if he can call “Islamic Terrorist” – I said no, because Islam did not commit murders, individuals do.  Terrorists are terrorists.

Matthew Doyle’s posting on Twitter would egg on others to jump on the band wagon creating a mess. There are Trumpees in UK too.
There are 339 murders in New York last year and 540 rapes. Is it fair to call Sean Hannity a rapist or Bill Blasio a murderer because they live in New York? We cannot even say Trump is from the same bunch of rapists and murderers, because that is not the truth.  The truth is New Yorkers are as good a people as anyone and anywhere on the earth even if 339 Murderers and 540 rapists live among them.  Likewise, the rapists and murders are as bad as they are anywhere on the same earth.   So, the real truth is Muslims are not terrorists because there are a bunch of terrorists among them.

No matter what nation or religion you belong to, if you are a rapist, it’s your touché that is hauled off. But, is it fair to haul your parents, siblings, kids, spouse, council man, clergy (Rabbi, Imam, Pastor, Pundit, Shaman or Gyaniji) and the Mayor of your town for your wrong doing?  No, it is not fair, they did not commit the rape, you did it and you are Heine is going to be nailed for that.

Stuart Varney of Fox News, had promised me last November that he will not use the phrase “Muslim Terrorist” and has lived up to it. A similar promise was made by Sean Hannity to use the phrase, “Terrorists among Muslims” which he has not been able to maintain, since the damned terrorists are calling themselves an Islamic state.

If we punish the wrong doer, justice and trust is restored in the society. If a child molester in your neighborhood is arrested, everyone says thank God. On the other hand if you blame the religion, what happens? Not a thing! You cannot beat, kill, hang, shoot, kick or bury the religion, it is intangible for God's sake.  Blaming religion does not restore justice; people continue to remain apprehensive when the terrorist is at large.   What can you do for Muslims?  Speak sense to the people who don’t.
War on terror is a dumb idea.

Matthew P Doyle Arrested After Confronting Muslim Woman in Croydon
On suspicion of inciting racial hatred

The man who confronted a random Muslim woman in Croydon demanding an explanation for the Brussels terror attacks is believed to have been arrested.
Matthew Doyle, 46, swiftly became infamous on Wednesday afternoon after tweeting about the encounter.
A British man has been arrested after posting anti-Muslim tweets following the Brussels attacks.
Matthew Doyle is in custody and being questioned by police.
Asked about Doyle, police said: "A 46-year-old man was arrested at his home address in Croydon on Wednesday, 23 March on suspicion of inciting racial hatred on social media."
Doyle had described on Twitter confronting a Muslim woman in south London and asking her to explain the Brussels attack. She said the attack had nothing to do with her, and he said that was "a mealy mouthed response."
The description of this encounter on Twitter drew wide attention, with many mocking the posting. He used a familiar anti-Muslim epithet in a subsequent tweet.
The tweets have been deleted. Doyle has not been charged.

 Thank you

Fox News - The Man Who Killed Usama bin Laden

The reason for me to write this brief note about this film is - my own involvement in the 9/11 story and my commitment to serve my nation for eternity, as long as I live.

It was joyous for me to see this show, and it got doubled down when Fox reluctantly acknowledged President Obama's role in it. I have heaped praises on Obama to remove the cancer instead of destroying the whole body like his predecessor did.

I hope my Republic friends see Obama's success, I hope they appreciate him, he is the best one we have had, the economy is doing exceptionally well, even after the total disaster caused by Bush, the budget deficit is reducing, and we have a refreshed infrastructure and so much more... Thank you Mr. President, we have to express our gratitude to you, shame on those who are ungrateful for what you have done, that is very un-American of them.

1. The 9/11 Story has been read over 2 Million times, I was on the radio that day in 2001 for 6-8 hours trying to bring coherence to the world that was chaotic that day, we initiated interfaith prayers, blood donation and fund raising. I had declared my own war on UBL.
http://theghousediary.blogspot.com/2014/09/911-my-personal-journey-from-2001.html

This movie brings a closure to so many, including me, which is best expressed in the Fox 4 News TV Dallas, a video the day UBL was killed.

Fox News, Sean Hannity, Stuart Varney and a bold statement from a Moderate Muslim

FOX NEWS AND MIKE GHOUSE | www.TheGhouseDiary.com
A bold statement from a moderate Muslim.

I appeal to my fellow Muslim Americans to reconsider their stance towards Sean Hannity and Stuart Varney, it does not mean they have to love them, but  simply means they don’t have to dislike them, and consider their point of view.

I've been with Sean Hannity on Fox News in over 110 shows in six years, and innumerable times on his syndicated radio show. He did not rid me because I differed with him, however, I have agreed with him on many occasions including his plan about creating safe zones for Syrian refugees, a brilliant plan that preserves their dignity to live on their own land.

I could have easily taken the Zuhdi Jasser and Tarek Fatah path to bash Muslims, creating an impression that they are the defenders of America and others are not.  That is non-sense, all of us are very patriotic Americans, and none of us will stand anyone messing with our freedoms and our way of life, the American way. We do have our proportionate percent of bad guys among us, like 1 in 355 mass murderers this year, and we are proud to be the first ones to turn those traitors in.

A few conservatives will be appeased by their (Jasser -Fatah) stance on issues, and give them a lift for taking that road, but in the long run, it's not good for America. Not only have they alienated fellow moderate Muslims, but have become fringe and ineffective. They can bash Muslims all they want, but to row the boat to safe waters, they need to be in the boat.

Our efforts should be to build a cohesive America where no one has to live in apprehension or fear of the other.

Contrary to Muslim misunderstanding that Stuart Varney and Sean Hannity are Islamophobes, they are not. Indeed, they are genuine critics of Radicals who are maligning our faith.

Had it not been for their persistent call, the call from Hannity and Varney and a few others,   we would not have woken up to see our real enemies- radicals among us, the Muslims.

Thanks to Stuart Varney for promising me not to use the phrase Muslim Terrorist, thus making a clear distinction that together, we are against radicals and not Muslims.

Hannity has made that point clear many times, he had also said that to honor me, his only Muslim friend at that time (Jasser came in late) he will not use the phrase radical Muslims or radical Islam, and instead use radicals among Muslims or radicals in Islam... He has kept up his word 50/50 on this.

I appeal to my fellow Muslims to watch them, they are not against Muslims, they are with us, Americans against the radicals.

I'm blessed to resonate with the voices of millions of moderate Muslims. Indeed, 12 million have visited my google Profile, and the support continues to grow. Thanks  to Stuart and Sean, as Muslim Americans we are committed to safety and security of every American.

We will agree and vehemently disagree on our approach, but our intent and effort is for a safe America.  We are in this together and we will announce major initiatives on Hannity and Varney shows. Watch us, and thanks for many for seeing us with clarity.

God bless America

Press Release: American Muslims stand with the U.S. President on Countering radicalization of Muslims

PRESS RELEASE

--------

Washington, D.C., December 7, 2015 – The San Bernardino mass shooting and the horrific loss of life and injuries last week have prompted serious soul searching among Muslims across the nation about the causes of home grown radicalization and how to counter it.

We stand with the President and his plans to eliminate the vicious ideology of Daesh, also known as ISIS.  “We agree with President Obama that ISIS does not speak for Islam, and American Muslims unequivocally reject ISIS’ hateful and misguided ideology” stated Ambassador Islam A. Siddiqui, President of American Muslim Institution.

While we mourn the deaths of fellow Americans in the 355 mass shootings this year, we particularly mourn the loss of life and resulting injuries in the San Bernardino mass shooting,  because a Muslim and his wife were responsible for the mass murder.

It is the responsibility of all Americans to help law enforcement officials in maintaining law and order and to assure the safety of every citizen. It is the duty of all of us to fight against radicalization through education and community engagement and work on promoting peace and harmony.  As American Muslims we have a greater responsibility in countering radicalization and violent extremism.

Join American Muslims against ISIS and Terrorism on the steps of Lincoln Memorial

PRESS RELEASE

American Muslims against ISIS gather up on the steps of Lincoln Memorial

Washington, DC, November 19, 2015 – Muslims around the world and particularly Americans Muslims have been sick of the terrorists, particularly the ISIS and the Al-Qaeda guys ever since they started terrorizing the lives of innocent people. We mourn the loss of lives in France, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Nigeria and elsewhere in the world and firmly stand against the terrorists.

Given the short notice prior to the Thanksgiving weekend, the Muslims of Washington, DC have organized a gathering of Americans of different faiths to come together on the steps of Lincoln Memorial and make the statements of condemnations.
We hope this event effectively conveys a message to the terrorists that the world is against them, and that we are all in this together; opposing terrorism and condemning ISIS.

You are all invited to join us on the steps of Lincoln Memorial:

The purpose of this gathering is to send a clear message to the ISIS and their ilk, that American Muslims are angry about their actions. They are to be charged for the violations of human rights, forcing women into slavery, conversions at gun point, harassment of Christians, Yazidis, Shias, Jews, Sunnis and other minorities, and most certainly creating chaos and abusing the name of Islam.

We cannot tolerate any of these acts and we urge our president to speak out in behalf of fellow humans,  and give them three days notice to back off, surrender, and repent for their actions or face the consequences.

We invite Americans of all faiths and no faiths to join us in standing up against ISIS.  Yes, we the Muslims are as angry as average American. Indeed, we are all in this together.

We pledge that we are one nation under the flag, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Please join us on the steps of Lincoln Memorial.

Fox's Varney Complains That American Muslims Haven't "Demonstrat[ed] On The Streets" To Denounce Terror

We have the plans and we will get it done.
Mike Ghouse

----

Fox News - Stuart Varney: "I'm Simply Saying That Muslims In America Have Yet To Show A Sizeable Street Demonstration Condemning Terror"

On the November 17 edition of Fox Business' Varney & Co., host Stuart Varney complained that American Muslims have not condemned the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, demanding of his guest "a public demonstration of where you're coming from" with "tens of thousands of Muslims" and "a big sign." Varney failed to note that numerous American Muslim organizations have condemned the attacks, calling them "ruthless and senseless acts of violence" and saying ISIS has "hijacked our religion."

If the video does not work, go to the link above and it should

STUART VARNEY (HOST): Muslims around the world condemning the attacks in Paris on social media. Mike Ghouse is with us, and he's with the America Together Foundation, which represents some Muslims in the United States. Mike, here's what I would like to see, and here's what I think most Americans would like to see. We would like to see tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Muslims, demonstrating on the streets of America, openly, overtly saying no, we reject terror. We reject ISIS. So far, sir, I've not seen anything like that. Will we?
MIKE GHOUSE: Well, the planning is underway. I think Muslims are getting together to put a beautiful plan together to condemn terrorism. Stuart, every mosque in Washington, D.C., and in the America, we have done the candlelight vigil. Everyone has issued a statement condemning the terrorism. First of all, blaming your religion is the dumbest idea out there.
VARNEY: No, no, no, I am not blaming the religion, sir, I'm not. I'm absolutely not blaming the religion. I'm simply saying that Muslims in America have yet to show a sizable street demonstration condemning terror. I've not seen it, and I think a lot of Americans would like to see it.
GHOUSE: Well, we are planning on it, as I said earlier.
VARNEY: When is it going to take place?
GHOUSE: I'm sorry?
VARNEY: When is it going to take place?
GHOUSE: We are planning somewhere towards the end of December or January, throughout America --
VARNEY: Why? Why does it take so long? If you feel so strongly about something -- Paris has just been devastated by terror. If you feel strongly about it, if you want to state your position, you get out thereand you do it.
GHOUSE: Well, we are writing an op-ed, I'm here with you, and today there is a big op-ed coming up. War on terror is the dumbest idea floated ever. Bush terror -- war on terror didn't work. Obama's didn't work. There is an Islamic way to deal with this terrorist and the Islamic way is the right way to deal with now.
VARNEY: What is it? Tell us now, sir, what is it? What's the Islamic way of dealing with Islamic terror?
GHOUSE: Absolutely. President Obama to go on the television with the consensus of United Nations and tell Mr. [Abu Bakr al-] Baghdadi [leader of ISIS], you got three days to lay down your arms. If not, we're going to hunt you down and get you. And this - we are doing it for the Islamic way. In Islam, God has created everything in balance. You are messing up with that balance. And because of that, Islam allows you to go get you wherever you are, ambush you, and kill you. We are not intending to kill you, but we are wanting to do is put you on the trial and prove to the world that you are dead wrong. Quran does not support the work you are doing and Islam does not support. It is you are a crazy nut and that's why we are going to get at you. We are going to gas one square mile at a time in Iran and -- not to kill you but to capture you and put you on the trial.
VARNEY: Why don't you, or some of your supporters or some of the people in your organization, just get a sign? A big sign, all walk outside in New York City or Washington, D.C., and say, "Hey, you, ISIS, we're coming to get you. We're going to kill you the Islamic way because you are the scum of the Earth." Would you like to make that kind of -- I'm not being facetious and sarcastic, but I'm waiting for some action here.
GHOUSE: Stuart, thanks for suggesting that. I will take the lead, we will get this sign made, and we will do it right here in Washington, D.C. And you will be the first one to be informed about the date and time.
VARNEY: Very good. Sir, that's excellent. We look forward to it, Mike Ghouse, we look forward to it, yes we do. I'm sorry, I'm out of time, and I'm not trying to cut you off here. But that's important, we need a public demonstration of where you're coming from. Not on Facebook, not on some web posting. Out there, in public, where everybody can see you and tell how you feel.
