Beard is not the determinator

Bearded Mumtaz Kadri shot the very person he was to guard; Punjab Governor Salman Taseer. The Governor was faulted by him for speaking out against the blasphemy laws.
Congresswoman Giffords from Arizona was shot for her support for the health care reform. How do we differentiate between these two, for those who are biased towards beards, beard is certainly not a determinator.

Both are shameful acts and fanaticism and intolerance creeps in every society, and we need to chuck this by not pushing the radicals to the corner and cause them to dig in their heels. We have to find a way out for every one for creating and sustaining social cohesion and a society where no one has live in fear of the other.

A corollary to Chinese wisdom; if you want to eliminate extremism, have discussions with them in open, give them the attention they are craving, a whole lot of them will see other point of view if we see their point of view. It takes patience but results ought to encourage, the other choice will create an ongoing conflict.

Ean and Jan Sullivan

Just got a call from Ean Sullivan wanting me to speak at the Rotary club in Plano, apparently some one spoke today at the club and frightened the crap out of every one.

The Sullivans had attended at least 8 of the 11 workshops I have presented on Atheism, Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islam, Jain, Jewish, Sikh, Zoroastrian and one general. I was pleased to know he was thinking about me and wants me to re-start the workshops.

He spoke about Islamic Jihad going to take over America, and that they want to impose Sharia Laws.... he was getting people to wake up.

Amazing how much these guys dupe the Americans, they are a band of a handful of them, it's there among all right wing radicals.

Met my old Jewish friend at the program connecting faiths; Abraham in different faiths.

He had not returned my calls nor had he responded to my emails for a while, I asked him what do I need to do to connect with him.

His answer surprised me.
He said " he saw that I wrote about Jimmy Carter on my website,
and that turned him off", then he asks me, "How can you do that?"

I asked him we will make the time and talk, why can't we support what Jimmy Carter had said? The man spoke the truth as he saw it, don't you believe you, him and I have the right to speak? Why do we have to hide on such a critical issue?

The policies the hawks of Israel are pursuing is detriment to its own peace, what Jimmy Carter is doing, if listned to, would bring peace and security that the Jews deserve. I hope the Jews and Israelis take a stand and do what is right for them, work for peace and not let the leaders mess up their future.

Bush should have been opposed earlier on, we would not have seen this destruction of our own economy, deaths of our soldiers and some million Iraqis and countless Afghanistan.

Evil persists because good men do nothing about it.
