NPR : Diane Rehm interviews David Cole, how the laws of the land evolve

How the Laws of the Land evolve, worth reading

This is one of the most beneficial interviews for all those who are aspiring to understand how the laws are made or changed.   I see our role at the American Muslim Institution, in the near future, to be able to put out words as a seed, then water it, care for it, and nurture it.  Then propagate the idea and gather momentum.   In this interview Diane Rehm interviews David Cole about his new book, and he eloquently lays out the process it took for NRA and GLBT lobby… the formula for us would be similar.

He talks about how constitutional law evolves including right to bear arms interpretation.  It's a guide book on activism that can bear fruit.

Trump’s interview with Chris Matthew raised another question – “if” you have anti-abortion laws, what good it is if there is no consequence.  Of course he walked back and created a new narrative, that of punishing the Doctors and facilities who perform abortion.

I hope to read this book, or if you purchase it, we all can take turns and read.  There is much for us in this.

MARCH 29, 2016 David Cole: "Engines Of Liberty: The Power Of Citizen Activists To Make Constitutional Law" on Diane Rehm Show

In his new book, legal scholar David Cole says citizen activists are the true drivers of constitutional change.

Personally, I have been working on establishing the narrative to place the blame on individuals and not religion. You hear or read that theme frequently.

De-Radicalizing Muslim Youth, Mississippi Muslim Couple supporting ISIS

DE-RADICALIZING (MUSLIM) YOUTH | TheGhouseDiary.com
Why do the American youth seek thrills in going to extremes? Usually they are loners and don't have many friends... and seek thrills.. join the gangs, drugs and radical groups. Is James Bond their role Model?

Muslim youth are no exception, they are seeking the same as every other youth, most choose the right path, a few make mistakes.

Where do we find them, how do we reach them? How do we rope in those who don't go to mosques, apparently less than a 1/3rd of the youth frequent the mosques about the same or less than the general population.

It is clearly not motivated by religion, even though they 'use' is as a vehicle to 'satisfy' their pent up frustrations or thrill seeking desires.

I NEED SOLUTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM THE YOUTH, IT IS NOT ABOUT RELIGION, IT IS ABOUT OFFERING - I HOPE TO HOLD A BRAINSTORMING SESSION.

ALTERNATIVES to keep them tied to good things of life.

Time for Trump to learn, let the court slap heavy fines

TIME FOR TRUMP TO LEARN| Center for American Politcs.com

I hope everyone who has been messed by Trump staffers sue Mr. Trump, as he is the one who eggs on his staff to be violent, let the courts pile up cases upon cases, he said he will pay for it, let him, it is not the money, and it is the fact that his rudeness is established in the court.   This man Trump learns to treat people with respect.

America has always been a great country and Tramp is trashing it with his attitudes, language and violence.  Let him learn to behave.

 Let’s hope Trump’s bad news is good news for America.  Let me write this in bullets;
Trump’s Campaign Chief Corey Lewandowski was arrested and charged with simple battery.
Corey had grabbed the arm of the reporter Michelle Fields and pushed her out.

Corey denied and trump denied.

Michelle’s ugly boss man at Brietbart does not want to press charges against Trump, everyone should be outraged at this, and because she is woman the assholes discounted her story. I am glad she pursued.

American Muslims condemn attack targeting Christians by the Taliban on the auspicious day of Easter in Lahore, Pakistan.

Washington, DC, March 28, 2016 – Reuters News reports that at least 65 people were killed and 300 were wounded in a suicide bombing attack that targeted Christians on the auspicious day of Easter in the City of Lahore, Pakistan.  Taliban groups that once had ties with Daesh claimed responsibility.

While we applaud the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to hunt down terrorists, we appeal to the Pakistanis religious leaders to reach out and counsel misguided individuals and groups.  We have an obligation to restore peace on earth in the name of the prophet, who is a mercy to fellow humans.

We condemn all acts of terrorism unconditionally, and our hearts go out to the families of the victims and their loved ones.  We pray with our hearts, souls and minds, asking God to guide us all to restore peace and a sense of security, especially to minorities among us.

Anti-Hindu sign by a Muslim Dairy Queen Owner condemned

Dairy Queen Owner's action to be condemned | www.WorldMuslimCongress.com

As a Muslim, I condemn the actions of a Muslim Dairy Queen Owner for his anti-Hindu marquis at his business in Kemah, Texas. However, it is obligatory on all of us to verify, if this Report is accurate. Even if the sign did not mean anti-Hindu, it is perceived as such by some of the Hindus of Houston area. Therefore, it becomes necessary to take the sign down to prevent pitting one American against the other.

If Mohammad Dar has mocked Hinduism on this Marquis at his store, it is is not acceptable and as Muslims we condemn his action.

As a Muslim and an interfaith speaker, I want to assure my fellow Americans who are Hindu in this instance, that this man Mohammad Dar is a nut case like so many others.

No religion ever teaches one to be ugly towards fellow beings, and each one of the religions teaches one to respect the otherness of others, and accept the God given uniqueness of each one of his creation. What happens then? Conflicts fade and solutions emerge.  99.9% of the people in each faith get that message right, a few don’t and Dar is one of them.

Take a look at few of the many verses from Quran (Muhammad Asad translation), thanks to Imam Zia and Imam Yahya, my partners in getting the right message of Islam out, for responding to my request quickly.
In this article, I have also thrown a challenge to fellow members of family of faiths including Hindus.

God has created this universe in balance, and whenever that balance is lost, it is our duty to restore it, and that is all religion is about.
Quran, 49:13 -- O men! Behold, We have created you all out of a male and a female, and have made you into nations and tribes, so that you might come to know one another. Verily, the noblest of you in the sight of God is the one who is most deeply conscious of Him. Behold, God is all-knowing, all-aware. ( We are all one large family - in Hinduism it is the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbukum, and in Abrahimic faiths, we all are children of Adam and Eve)
Quran, 49-10 -- All believers are but brethren. Hence, [whenever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy. - 49:10
Quran,  6:108 -- But do not revile those [beings] whom they invoke instead of God, (This prohibition of reviling anything that other people hold sacred - even in contravention of the principle of God's oneness - is expressed in the plural and is, therefore, addressed to all believers. Thus, while Muslims are expected to argue against the false beliefs of others, they are not allowed to abuse the objects of those beliefs and to hurt thereby the feelings of their erring fellow-men.(Quran Ref: 6:108 )) lest they revile God out of spite, and in ignorance: for, goodly indeed have We made their own doings appear unto every community (Lit., "thus goodly have We made...", etc., implying that it is in the nature of man to regard the beliefs which have been implanted in him from childhood, and which he now shares with his social environment, as the only true and possible ones - with the result that a polemic against those beliefs often tends to provoke a hostile psychological reaction. (In time, [however,] unto their Sustainer they must return: and then He will make them [truly] understand all that they were doing. - 6:108
Hinduism and Islam teach non-violence, so do other religions, and I ask my friends of faiths, from all faiths to heed this verse.
Quran, 41.34  -- "To overcome evil with good is good, and to resist evil by evil is evil." It is also strongly enjoined in the Qur’an in the same verse 41:34, “Good and evil deeds are not equal. Repel evil with what is better; then you will see that one who was once your enemy has become your dearest friend.”

Harvest Restaurant and the Muslim portrait.

What a surprise it was to walk into this restaurant in down town Louisville,  Kentucky. As you walk in, you will not miss the portrait of a Muslim man and his wife in the Hijab right at the entrance wall, it is one of the three pictures on the first wall, and then all the walls are decorated with pictures of people.

It reminded me of a restaurant in Houston. “John Nonmacher, owner of Nonmacher's Bar-B-Que on South Mason, said he has no plans to take down the controversial poster, which depicts an Iranian man hanging from a rope surrounded by cowboys, one of whom is wearing a T-shirt that reads "Iranians Suck."

Harvest is a very popular restaurant in Louisville for its organic food, every item there is home grown.  From vegetables to milk, coffee and meat is all grown by the local farmers.

The Portraits on the walls are that of the farmers who grow and supply organic food.  One of the farmers is a Muslim couple, and thus their picture.

As an American who dreams of a cohesive America, it gave me tremendous amount of joy, not because there was a picture of a Muslim couple, but because it is uplifting to know that when a few are raking bigotry, there are many who bring out the best of humanity through inclusion.   It was perhaps an ordinary, normal routine thing for the owner, but made a point about normal human beings living a normal life.

We are all in this together. This is how each one of us, Muslims, Mexicans, GLBT, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs and others can be a normal part of the American story.  The more we present these pictures, the less conflict there will be giving everyone peace of mind to continue adding prosperity.

Are we a part of the American story?  Link

Obama's Tango

 OBAMA' Tango | TheGhouseDiary.com

President Obama was criticized by the Republicans for Tangoing in a State Dinner in Argentina while Brussels was bombed.  Nothing is new and facts don’t matter to my Republican friends, they are hell bent on criticizing Obama, they simply cannot think clearly.

A president has to live a normal life as an example to others. Presidents Bush, Clinton, and Reagan have all lived a normal life. In fact Bush broke the silence when New York was down after 9/11, he encouraged people to go out do the shopping and start living.

The hypocrite Piers Morgan also criticized Obama, has stopped eating? Stopped living? Have you? Has anyone? Even the family members of the deceased did not stop living.  Even when the biggest tragedy fell on us on 9/11, did anyone stop living the normal life within their homes? When Hiroshima was bombed, did the Japanese stopped their life?

Life has to go on, it's a hard truth but life does not stop and nothing stops. President Obama did the right thing by showing the world that we can function as normal beings with all our emotions – anger, sadness, joy and sorrow, thoughtful and playful.

If we are honest to ourselves, we will be fair to all including Reagan, Bush or Obama, and not single out Obama.

Stuart Varney Show and Mike Ghouse at Fox News today 3.24.16 about Matthew Doyle in United Kingdom

Ghouse on Stuart Varney Show at Fox News today 3.24.16
Matthew P Doyle should be released

March 24, 2106 – Just came out of Fox News Studios doing an interview with Stuart Varney.  We talked about free speech instead of the talking points.

God would not have given us the ability to talk or dialogue, if he did not want us to have that freedom. Whether we are British, American, Chinese, Mexicans, Arabs or Indians, free speech is our inalienable right. Free speech should never be compromised, and free assembly should never be compromised either. However, hate speech that creates a safety issue to the society must be contained; it is the responsibility of the society to maintain law and order.
Matthew Doyle should be released explaining to him this story at www.TheGhousediary.com
Matthew Doyle was wrong, he got away because she was a woman,  if that woman was a man he would have punched the guy in his face, and a fight would have broken out… creating Chaos. If he and she had more people around the police would have a major problem on their hands. Hurray to the British Police, now that they have made a point that leads people to think about it, he must be released.

It is our duty to keep law and order and faithfully guard the safety of every citizen. Hate is one of the many sources of disrupting the peace in a society and it is our duty to track down the source of such hate and work on mitigating it. We have an obligation to maintain a balance in the society.
Stuart asked me if he can call me a moderate Muslim, yes, absolutely. Then he asked me if he can call “Islamic Terrorist” – I said no, because Islam did not commit murders, individuals do.  Terrorists are terrorists.

Matthew Doyle’s posting on Twitter would egg on others to jump on the band wagon creating a mess. There are Trumpees in UK too.
There are 339 murders in New York last year and 540 rapes. Is it fair to call Sean Hannity a rapist or Bill Blasio a murderer because they live in New York? We cannot even say Trump is from the same bunch of rapists and murderers, because that is not the truth.  The truth is New Yorkers are as good a people as anyone and anywhere on the earth even if 339 Murderers and 540 rapists live among them.  Likewise, the rapists and murders are as bad as they are anywhere on the same earth.   So, the real truth is Muslims are not terrorists because there are a bunch of terrorists among them.

No matter what nation or religion you belong to, if you are a rapist, it’s your touché that is hauled off. But, is it fair to haul your parents, siblings, kids, spouse, council man, clergy (Rabbi, Imam, Pastor, Pundit, Shaman or Gyaniji) and the Mayor of your town for your wrong doing?  No, it is not fair, they did not commit the rape, you did it and you are Heine is going to be nailed for that.

Stuart Varney of Fox News, had promised me last November that he will not use the phrase “Muslim Terrorist” and has lived up to it. A similar promise was made by Sean Hannity to use the phrase, “Terrorists among Muslims” which he has not been able to maintain, since the damned terrorists are calling themselves an Islamic state.

If we punish the wrong doer, justice and trust is restored in the society. If a child molester in your neighborhood is arrested, everyone says thank God. On the other hand if you blame the religion, what happens? Not a thing! You cannot beat, kill, hang, shoot, kick or bury the religion, it is intangible for God's sake.  Blaming religion does not restore justice; people continue to remain apprehensive when the terrorist is at large.   What can you do for Muslims?  Speak sense to the people who don’t.
War on terror is a dumb idea

Matthew P Doyle Arrested After Confronting Muslim Woman in Croydon
On suspicion of inciting racial hatred

The man who confronted a random Muslim woman in Croydon demanding an explanation for the Brussels terror attacks is believed to have been arrested.
Matthew Doyle, 46, swiftly became infamous on Wednesday afternoon after tweeting about the encounter.
A British man has been arrested after posting anti-Muslim tweets following the Brussels attacks.
Matthew Doyle is in custody and being questioned by police.
Asked about Doyle, police said: "A 46-year-old man was arrested at his home address in Croydon on Wednesday, 23 March on suspicion of inciting racial hatred on social media."
Doyle had described on Twitter confronting a Muslim woman in south London and asking her to explain the Brussels attack. She said the attack had nothing to do with her, and he said that was "a mealy mouthed response."
The description of this encounter on Twitter drew wide attention, with many mocking the posting. He used a familiar anti-Muslim epithet in a subsequent tweet.
The tweets have been deleted. Doyle has not been charged.

Good Parenting and Interfaith marriages

Good parenting and interfaith marriages | http://interfaithmarriages.blogspot.com

Once your kids turn 18, you would know if you have failed or succeeded as a parent. I am pleased to share the two sides of the coin.

On Friday the 18th day of March 2016, it was a joy to officiate an interfaith marriage between a Muslim bride and a Mormon groom.  What transpired there was a joyful union of not only of the man and the woman but of their families.  I am pleased to share a few good things after the ceremony. I hope some of you can relate to it, and some rejoice it knowing that there are so many great parents out there.

Some of the most beautiful moments of the weddings that I cherish were; the statement made by bride’s father, "My daughter took complete charge of this ceremony; it's all her planning." He was very proud of the fact that his little daughter is so capable. The Mother of the Bride, on the other hand, was standing quietly and admiring her daughter’s freedom and independence.  I wish I had taken her picture, she was standing right in front me absorbed in her daughter’s happiness.  The Grooms parents acknowledged how they have raised their son to be open minded about fellow humans. Of course, I can relate with his faith, one of my best friends was a Mormon. Groom’s mother was serenely happy and the father felt proud of seeing his son making a great choice.

This is the ultimate achievement of good parenting that your kids are independent and are ready to live their lives on their own terms.

On the other hand, if your kids fear you, you are missing the beauty of the relationship, but don't lose hope, you can start the process of restoring the relationship now.
In one of the interfaith weddings I officiated a few years ago, a Christian man turned Atheist was marrying a Hindu girl, and his parents had disowned him and did not want to talk with him unless the girl is converted. (Conservatism is a part of every religion).  It took some counseling and the father agreed to attend the wedding ceremony if I call on Jesus as the witness, and groom agreed to live with it.  After all, that is the whole purpose of an interfaith marriage ceremony, to give a semblance of their faith in the sermon.  After the ceremony, the father who was standing aloof in the corner, walked up to me and gave a big hug and joined his kids in the celebrations. Thank God, the tenseness between the families evaporated in a hurry, it was meant to be.

You may consider watching the movie “2 States” with English subtitles; it is one of the finest Bollywood movies made about a tyrant father restoring his relationships with his son. However, the main plot of the movie was humor that comes with inter-ethnic marriages.

Good parenting involves a good relationship. If your kids are excited to share their story or talk with you without fear, you are a damn good parent, and you are blessed with the relationship to cherish it for a lifetime.

Discipline yes, the punishment no.

I never spanked or screamed at my kids, there was no need for it, but, I am glad their mother gave them the discipline they needed,  while freedom was my thing.

It tears me apart when a few men shout at their kids, let alone beat them up. What a shame it is, they are incapable of respecting their own offspring, what will they respect then?  If they were not respected, it does not mean they have to pass it on to their offspring, we have to make it better for each successive generation, and they have to take that step.

One of the greatest lessons I have learned from my ex-wife was to keep love to discipline ratio above 4: 1, that is, give them love and hug four times before a disciplinary command. It worked well for me even though I was a failed disciplinarian, I just couldn't be tough, particularly with my girl, when she responded with Yes Sirs, nor could I be tough with my boy, I could not stand humiliation on his face.  Now, as a Grandfather, I watch him deal with his little son, and what a joy it is to me that he treats his kid with patience, logic and reason, and the little sucker responds to him, just like he did with me. I am all smiles.

A few men have the arrogance to believe, that, unless you scream and frighten your kids, they don't learn, that is baloney!  Imagine working for a boss who screams at you, thank God that breed is disappearing now. I had one like that in India.

What is the need to control kids?  Instead, you ought to think about the following pledge to restore your relationship with your family members;

Take the pledge!

"Let them be who they are"
"Let me get out of their way"
"Let me shed my arrogance to teach them"
"Let them make mistakes and correct themselves"
"Let them be independent"
"Let them make their own decision”
“Let me be a good listener to my kids”
“Let me not interrupt them while they are talking”
“Let me believe them when they say even the most outrageous things”
“Let me be their friend”

It is never too late, both the parent and the kids desire, want, and seek this, take the first step and enjoy the relationship with your family members.

Mr. Trump, Islam does not hate us

PRESS RELEASE

Contact: Mike Ghouse
(214) 325-1916
Washington, DC
www.AmericaTogetherFoundation.com
SpeakerMikeGhouse@gmail.com

Mr. Trump, blaming Islam amounts to barking at the wrong tree.
Washington, D.C.  March 10, 2016 – Mr. Trump in an interview to CNN Anchor, Anderson Cooper said, “There’s an unbelievable hatred of us, we have got to get to the bottom of it, and there is unbelievable hatred of us.”Anderson interjects, “In Islam itself?” Trump responds, “You have to figure that out, ok, you will get another Pulitzer.” (Video)

He continues, “We have to be very vigilant, very careful and we cannot allow people coming into this country with this hatred of us”.

I want to assure Mr. Trump that Islam does not hate America, nor does Islam kill people, just as Guns don’t kill, but individuals do.

Mr. Trump is seeking guidance when he says, “we have to get to the bottom of it” and I am pleased to offer my services to coach him in Islam and Muslim psyche.
Jesus did not give permission to Christians to go on the crusades, inquisitions, genocides of Native Americans, Holocaust, Bosnia and massacres etc? It is not Christians, but the men who did not get Christianity committed those crimes.

Muhammad (pbuh) did not give permission to Muslims to gas the Kurds, commit 9/11, genocide of people in Darfur? He did not give permission to the ISIS animals to forcibly subject Christian, Yazidi and Shia women to sex abuse?  It is not Muslims, but the men who did not get Islam committed those crimes.

If we are inclined to believe in that non-sense, we have a serious responsibility to find the truth, and truth shall set us free.

Bad things happen because those creeps did not get their religion right.
Who do you blame, religion or the creeps?

If you blame the creeps what happens?
You’ll hunt them down wherever you can find them,  and punish according to restore trust in the society, so no one can live in apprehension or tensions.

If you blame the religion what happens? Mr. Trump, nothing happens! It is the dumbest thing to blame the religion!  Religion is not a being, it is an intangible item, and you cannot shoot, kick, beat, thrash, hang, kill or bury a religion. Let’s not bark at religion, it does not good and no problem will be solved except aimless barking.

Problem remains, people will continue to remain apprehensive and fearful of each other. Let’s find solutions to these problems.

We are indeed committed to build a cohesive America, where no American has to live in Apprehension or fear of each other.
