Conservatives talk show hosts are fun to work with.

Washington, DC Press Club, December 15, 2015

While I was watching the Presidential debate at the National Press Club, there was another group watching right behind me.  When Lindsey Graham spoke eloquently about blaming the individuals and not the faith, which is my mantra, I clapped, and they booed.  One of the ladies and her husband beckoned me to join them, and told me they were conservatives and asked about me, "I am a moderate" I said.

Melody and Dave Clarke, and Mike Ghouse

Of course we exchanged a few thoughts on what is being a moderate – it is someone who does not see the conservative and liberals as his or her adversaries, it is someone who had no problem with a different point of view, it is someone who understands different perspectives without agreeing to them. I introduced myself and gave them my card that read, Mike Ghouse, Executive Director, American Muslim Institution.

What followed after that was an interesting but a familiar conversation, Déjà vu!   It appears that most of the conservatives have memorized certain things about Muslims, and reel it off.  I don’t get offended; instead I listen to them patiently and share my perspective. They asked me about Sharia and I gave them a short talk on the topic and referred them to my website www.ShariaLaws.com and asked them to read at least two articles listed on the left panel; Genesis of Sharia and Fixing Sharia.

If we bear any responsibility towards the well being of fellow Americans, we must talk with the idea of communicating our points of view, and to understand and not to put down the other, even if the other does that. That is precisely what Jesus meant when he said to turn the other check, meaning don’t aggravate the conflict, mitigate it, and that is precisely the approach of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), both of them are my mentors in human development.

Melody Clarke is a conservative Radio talk show host; and her husband Dave and we had a good time learning our differences on political issues.  She has offered me to join on her on her show in North Carolina, and I have been on many conservative shows across the nation.  I hope a few more will see another point of view, shame on us, as Muslims, we have not offered an alternate narrative about Muslims, and instead we defend and blame them and cause them to dig in their heels. On the other hand our conservative friends have not made an effort to see if there is another point of view.

I am sure you have had that experience, with patience; people will learn to respect you, and gradually see your point of view as a courtesy. Instead of falling into the trap and getting agitated, if you take the approach of listening with patience, it opens them with common decency to listen to you; a dialogue begins at that time.

If we can learn to respect the otherness of others and accept the God-given uniqueness of each one of us, then conflicts fade and solutions emerge.  It is not 2+2 = 4, but we have to go through emotional process to achieve that for a better world around us.

There is no joy greater than living without conflicts with fellow beings. By the way, do join us for this God given opportunity to build stronger bonds with fellow Americans on the steps of Lincoln Memorial for joint celebrations of Christmas and Milad (Prophet Muhammad's birth day) with Christmas Carols and Nasheeds.

Republicans will fall flat on their faces

As an American, and as a Republican moderate, it is disgusting to see the way a “few” Republicans are behaving in a shameless manner. They got nothing better to offer to the nation, and they don’t have a single good presidential candidate for 2016 with the exception of Rand Paul, who will tear their bigotry at the cost of his chances.

And now they are putting all their eggs in Benghazi – they will fall flat on their effing faces, if you compare to over 30 Benghazi’s during Bush, when they did not squeak.

Their attitude is like the hyena’s, if I don’t get it, let me bite into them and do the damage.  It is their desperation that is causing them to lose their senses, and they have a lot more to lose with that behavior. More and more Republicans will see their ugliness and will dump them in 2014 if they don’t get their act together

Obama is too civilized to show them his finger.

We the Republicans are losing everywhere, not necessarily because Obama is doing the right things, but because we are doing all the dumb and stupid things.

As a Republican, it is my duty to speak out against the non-sense in my party, and if we don't  guard the fall, then I will be letting us die a slow death. I am worried about 2014. I have a feeling we will lose a lot of these disgusting Republican Senators and Congressional Republicans.

Nearly 92% of Americans want background check on gun sales, and what do these idiots do, vote against it. On the top of it, on the equal pay for women 22 of these idiots in Senate and 138 in Congress vote against it. They simply don't get it and will lose big time in 2014. I hate to see that happen, we need to have each house in different party's hands, and with a simple majority and not a bully majority. Americans in general, and Republicans in particular need to dump these creeps.
We need our representative to represent our sentiments and our needs and not be sell themselves cheaply to lobbyists.

John McCain, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham expressed their belligerence in the nomination process of Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. Obama is too civilized to show them his finger. Furthermore Obama does not want to waste time in engaging in unnecessary debates and that makes him a winner against these losers. Dianne Feisenstein had to literally tell Graham to shut up during the hearings.

Masters in Rudeness
There is not a day that goes by without a stupid comment from a Republican. The only saving grace is Rand Paul and Ted Cruz who fried Eric Holder in giving an answer. If I were Obama, I would tell Eric not to waste public’s money. If a question is asked, damn it give a straight answer and don’t dance around it. Just tell it like it is, we do not kill American Citizens on our land, any conditions, period.

We the Republicans were disgraceful in not acknowledging the lowering unemployment figures of 7.7%, we are so hateful towards Obama that we don’t’ even want to give him the credit. It is as if we wanted Americans to suffer and not have the job, we are on the path of self destruction. I hope we the moderates can speak out strongly and save our party.

Today some of the Republican nuts send me a link where Michelle Obama selected singer Adele to sing on her 50th birthday. Now they are picking on her. The Americans have voted them in, and simply accept it. She is not doing anything different than Laura, Barbara, Nancy, Rosalyn or Jackie. I think we should rise above pettiness.

When we don't have something substantial, we resort to these. I am the best thing Republicans can ever get; I do not praise them when they display their stupidities, and I speak up and keep waking them up so they don’t lose out big in 2014.

We cannot afford jerks like Bachman itching non-stop to defund Obama care, it is there, accept it and move on. Don’t waste our time in chasing the losing causes. I really feel sorry for the Minnesotans for electing her.

Mike Ghouse is a moderate Republican, who see through the stupidities of the party and speaks out. He cares about checks and balances and does not want the Republican Party to be slaughtered in 2014. We need to have strong two party systems to have stability in our policies.
